Holy crap...the more time I spend at these apostate sights the more I learn about JW's...I had no idea Eve's age had an impact on calculating the 1975 deal...I thought they torqued one out of their behinds...
Can someone give me a link with some more information on this...or should I just stay tuned here?

After the 1975 debacle the shining blights decided it would be just as well to string along the hapless by suggesting that actually the 6000 year period that the WTS concluded that man had existed on earth and that would no doubt culminate in 'Armaggedon' actually started with Eve's creation and that the founding of the world began with Abel's birth. Gary pointed oout an obvious inconsitency with this theology.

In the mid 1990's I showed the Aid book verse about Eve being the same age as Adam to an elder who had just told me the Society did not know when Eve was created, and I think he passed a kidney stone right there.
The poor guy never came back.
Think about this, how old was cain or able? we don't know, all we know is that seth was born when she was 130 years old, Up to that point in time they had to be the ONLY MEN born for her to say that phase when seth was born the rest of her kids were GIRLS Then after seth she had more sons and daughters. Also just because they didn't have brith control back then didn't mean they didn't have lots of sex.Remember Adam knew Eve. Oral sex an of course the old pull it out tech. to hold off having kids right away. Maybe Eve gave birth to onlys girls up until cain after they got kick out. Its doesn't make sense for God to leave adam in the garden with no helper for yars on end.I mean how long does it take to name the animals, then again he was talking to God and God would speak to him on a reg. bases so time would fly and he wouldn't feel totally alone. Maybe a month or two before adam wanted a helper????Remember when Adam & Eve were in the garden it said "one day when the woman wasn't with her husband the snake began to speak to her"(The NWT cut that part or phase out). Anyway meaning she didn't sin right after she was made but maybe a week or a couple of days after being made. This is really deep however Jesus never said to use the story of adam & eve to predict the end.Remember Jesus gave signs or anti signs(meaning when it wouldn't come but after these signs pass because there has to be some kind of peace thingy) when the end would come. Like I said the WTS doesn't know what the hell they are doing if only they would listen to the real Jesus.

Along with HS, I distinctly recall that the the supposed differential between the creation of Adam and the creation of Eve was used as a major "fall back and regroup" excuse for the failure of the 6,000-year time-table the WTS had so carefully laid out in the Life Everlasting book (among others). It was always presumed that Adam and Eve were created in the same year. The new light (LOL) being:"We don't know how long it was after Adam was created that Eve was created, so the 6,000 years may have (and obviously did not) started in 4026 BCE."
It just blows me away how much, more and more, the dishonesty and hypocrisy of the WTS are made more clear to me, each month, as I read these posts. It reminds me of the expression: "You don't even know what you don't know." Or, more personally, "I'd forgotten how much I made myself forget."

The key is they have all but backed away from the 7,000 year creative day. Which had no basis in the Bible.
So it really doesn't matter whether Adam was alone 28 years or 28 minutes.
Well, they may have "backed away" from the 7,000 year teaching but not IN PRINT. Is this another case of change by stealth?
How well many of us remember the "enlightenment" of the "Life Everlasting" book. I used to think that red book was a real gem!

You are correct that they have not stated that it is not 7,000 years. But, they have not printed that the Creative day is 7,000 years since the late 60's or early 70's. The last one I can find in May of 1968 in the Watchtower. And yes in the red book!! In that Watchtower they even used 2975 as the end of the seventh creative day.
What is funny, is how many Witnesses today even know how they came up with 1975??
On a related note, did you know that the 1975 date for the end of 6000 years since creation was actually the Society's fourth swing at the calculation?

So, it's not too surprising that that still haven't hammered out the details. What's an extra hundred years or so?
