So I was eagerly (add sarcasm) awaiting the CO visit this week. For once because is less work being at the meeting. I just have to sit down and listen. I don't have to pretend I am actually reading the magazine or anything like that. The other reason is that lately the titles of the talks are somewhat intriguing, and since the titles are announced prior to the visit, I usually wonder what kind of crap is he going to pull out. With some of the BS I hear about other CO, I am wondering when I will have to hear some of it from our local CO. This is a new guy. The last one made his 3 year round and left to another circuit. So here, for giggles and for some to consider, is a brief summary of what I got out of the visit.

His name is Daniel Con. Him and his wife went to the school for couple in 2012 and were assigned to server somewhere in Arizona until very recently when they were put in the circuit work. Since then, visiting our congregation was their first circuit assignment ever. So when I heard him say that I went like... Oh Boy! new guy! full of energy and eager to make a name for himself.

The title of the first talk was "Believe the inspired truth, not the inspired error". He referred to Rev 16:13-14. In the spanish version of the NWT, the word "inspired" is used in those paragraphs. He went about comparing the inspired expression we get from Jehovah against the ones we get from the world. He followed the fine example of brother Morris and started ranting against higher education. He said "the inspired word we get from the world under Satan's control tells us that we can not succeed without higher education. The inspired word from Jehovah says that we indeed need and education. He said JWs understand we need to go to school to have the basic skills to survive. Some choose to continue their education after HS for one or may be two more years. But that is it. Anything after that should make us questions our motives."

On Sunday, we walked in a little late. He was foaming about something related on how Jehovah makes us better people on how we treat our wives and children. No need to explain much more about the irony on such statements. The last talk was about parenthood. Here is where I had to use all my energy to stay in my chair. We were seating front row so I was no more than 15 ft from him. On top of that, I am glad the parking lot was full and we were parked in double line. That meant we had to get up and leave as soon as the "Amen" was done. He was seating right behind me and the rules of pretending would have dictated that I had to greet him if we stayed any longer. I would have choked the MF. He went on ranting about family worship night. He started ok but in under 10 minutes he began the twisting. He literally said that the bible clearly shows that Abraham must have had the custom of having a family worship night. He then attempted to explain it. Obviously everyone swallowed it. He then went on and on about the benefits of having it and how we should not miss it for anything in the world. That kids and wives may complain from time to time about being tired or had other plans but that if we were responsible men, we would not let them get away with it. (remember, a few lines above when I mentioned how we are supposed to treat our women). When I had it, was when he, a child less young man (forgot to mention he was fairly young), trying to tell the rest of us how to raise our children. He went as far as to state:" If you are the type of father who thinks about not pressuring your child into following the path of Jehovah, then that is the most absurd thing I've ever heard" and then his closing remarks partly stated "If you are the wife of a spiritual man who makes sure to always have the family worship, then I want you to get home today and give your man a big hug and say "Thank you honey!"

Lastly, off course, he had to remind the sisters:" If you are a sister in a divided household with and unbeliever, my kuddos to you as you perform both jobs, mom's and dad's". I guess if you are unbeliever, the food and support you bring to the house does not count.

You reference the Spanish version of NWT, are you in a Spanish congo? Makes me even more angry if so as to the education angle.

Good to know Abraham had family worship. These idiots will make up anything that will further their agenda.

The CO's role is to hammer square poles into round holes. There's a hell of a lot of hammerin' but very little progress. Pity the poor congregation thst sits there trying to take in these bleak pickins'.

How can apologist not put themselves in our shoes for a minute and think what can happen to a marriage? For one side they say that there is no reason for divorce and separation other than fornication or mutual agreement (temporary separation). In the other side, they are always complaining that we won't leave them and their religion alone. We are free to leave right? How can I leave if doing so will make my wife remember our differences during such statements?

Didn't the Society steal family worship night from the Mormons? Which reminds me of the old Joke................An assistant to the GB breaks into their meeting and announces he has important news both good and bad.

What's the good news he is asked. "Jesus has returned and he's on the phone and wants to speak to one of immediately!!" That's wonderful a GB member calls out but what is the bad news? "He's calling from Salt Lake City!"
