    Joining the military or police.

    In 1977 I was a newly appointed elder and went to an elders school. We had one brother there who was a Illinois state trooper. I quietly asked the elders in charge- How can he be an elder or even a JW? He works for Caesar and carries a firearm and has sworn to use it, to shoot someone, if the law requires him to do so.

    Basically, they told me to mind my own business.

    About 14 years ago, the elders manual laid out what "brazen conduct" could be.

    "10. Though this is not an exhaustive list, brazen conduct may be involved in the following if the

    wrongdoer has an insolent, contemptuous attitude
    made evident by a practice of these things:
    • Willful, continued, unnecessary association
    with disfellowshipped nonrelatives despite
    repeated counsel.-Matt. 18:17b; 1 Cor. 5:11, 13;
    2 John 10, 11; w81 9/15 pp. 25-26.
