I happened to be in my old town last week, I decided to drive past my old KH in N.Wales,

To my suprise there was a large 'For Sale' sign hanging off it!

This is a semi-remote area with the nearest other KH's a good 30 mins in every direction. The KH was built with and renovated via local funds and local efforts (including mine).

I looked in the local paper and saw that another nearby hall had been sold too and another auctioned off, all in recent years.

Looks like the congs are being squished together globally.

    Money grab indeed 💰!

About 3 years ago the watchtower said they would be selling off 3,000 kingdom halls off worldwide

It's surprising they are selling halls in rural areas!

If they aren't building anything new nearby many JWs will just stop attending.

I am sure you are right Cofty, I already know of some elderly ones who attend my old K.H in a rural area who have decided to only attend on Sundays, due to travel costs. It must make the mid-week Meeting very poorly attended. If they sell that Hall I can see many giving up.

To sell one in a rural area and make JW's do a long round trip is such a blatant money grab, a stealing of money all provided by the JW's of that K.H. The running of the K.H costs the Org nothing, so how would a JW justify such a thing in their mind ? It may lead to many waking up fully.

If so, they will probably be more "dangerous" than the average Apostate, griping about the Big Property Con cannot be seen as Apostasy, but exposes the Org for what it is, a greedy money making SCAM !

Jehovah's blessing is sure moved around in bricks and morter. I wonder what he thinks of all his holy spirit and blessing he bestowed on buildings now occupied by in many cases Babylon the great and organizations run by Satan's worldly system..tongue firmly in cheek lol.

Back in the mid-2000's, Ron Drage (prominent UK Branch official) informed Brother Greenlees (very prominent JW in Scotland) that the organization had serious financial problems, but said he was sure it would be successfully dealt with.

Brother Greenlees shared this info with a dyed-in-the-wool JW who was also a close friend of mine.

The money-grab is continuing apace - must be due to the hundreds/thousands of new KH's being built for free in 3rd world countries. Isn't the generosity/love of "Jehovah's organization" wonderful to see!

Active JW's: Sorry to be a party-pooper, but I have yet to see/hear all the wonderful reports of these KH projects which poor JW's couldn't afford by themselves. Try asking your BOE to find out. :)

I could tell you a few stories about Ron Drage! I first met him when I was a teenager. He was our D.O. He came to lunch at our house.

As a young man, I was staying at a Hotel near the District Assy. venue, so was Drage, I remember him in the Bar one evening, walking around with a poncy glass of wine in his hand, taking all the worship of the brown-nose types like a bleedin' Rock Star.

It was the first time I had observed such sickening sycophancy in the Org.

As to the Third World Mud Hut K.H's, I bet the locals foot the bill for these, and give free labour and materials too.

The J.W Org is a Property Company posing as a relgion and scamming its members.
