I know this thread is meant to be lighthearted, but I'll give a serious answer so deal with it.

Last night I was talking to my bro-in-law. We got to talking about how American companies build factories in third world countries where they hire 14 year old workers to work 14 hour days and pay them 14 cents an hour. And how knowing that this sort of stuff goes on in the world makes me bitter as hell a lot of the time, life's arbitrariness and unfairness.

His response made sense (he is a very rational guy). He said that feeling bad for these people really doesn't do them any good, and that who knows, maybe they are better off working under these conditions then they would be otherwise. His take on things is that it's good to be conscientious, but it serves no purpose to allow the world to embitter you. After all, Bill Gates surely has problems too, life happens to everybody.

So that is where I'd like to get to, but much of the time I am pretty depressed.

How happy am I? Currently, I am at the happiest I have been in many years, possibly ever. Since Wednesday, I have had a visitor here and have been having a ball. Witchywoman, of here and other forums, flew in Wednesday after many months of talking online, decided we needed to meet.

We have spent the past 3 days just getting to know each other and enjoying each others company. Tonight, we go to my daughters for dinner and so they meet also.

Happy? I don't see how I could be much happier right now.

I would say about a 1 and a half, but the half is only because of circumstances now that are never there, so overall it is most definitely a 1! I must say so that Im a student and students life rocks!!!!!!!! Ok so I guess a 1.3 really at this moment......
