Thanks everyone for the help ! some great ideas here, I always think that presents that have been thought about with the person in mind mean so much more than traditional gifts that you would give to anyone.
I think I can combine a number of the ideas, although the busty Blonde bursting out of the cake may be a bit beyond what I can do !

A high quality torch is a handy present, at least they might think of you when they use it .
Sailors tend not to be picky and are quite easily pleased. Something about the love of the Sea and Sailing that accomplishes remarkable transformation.
Anything that is given with love and respect is welcomed. Even a simple request to accompany the Skipper on his craft on one of his outings.
