The letter that Watchtower Free put up was very interesting. Here is my impression.

The watchtower is becoming more and more geared towards idiots.

The midweek meeting has a STUPID name, and the parts sound equally DUMB. More simple information and delivery.

They had something that was called a school and actually had some small value. Now its called something else.

The name of the meeting: "Our Christian Life and Ministry Meeting"

Another part called: "Treasures From God’s Word"

And the worst...A part called: "Digging for Spiritual Gems" SERIOUSLY! Which hillbilly member came up with these names??? This is a different dumber religion.

Can anyone think of a financial gain in recruiting lower IQ members?

I am serious...is there a government program that funds teaching classes for this?

I am looking at what possible gain could be in this for the Org.

I think this change up of the meetings is just to serve as a distraction from the implications of the layoffs and the stoppage of K.H. construction work.

"Pay no attention to the layoffs and work stoppage behind the curtain. Look at the shiny new meetings and literature arrangements that we've made for you!"

The work stoppage and layoffs may have been planned months in advance . . . together with the meeting changes to serve as a consoling distraction.

This is a warm-up letter that they just posted:

    TO ALL BODIES OF ELDERS

Re: Letter Dated October 4, 2015 Dear Brothers:

On Saturday, October 3, 2015, after 3:00 p.m. in New York, a letter to all congregations will be posted in the “Letters” section of jw.org. A related video will be posted in the “Event Media” section of jw.org. It is our desire that, where possible, the letter be read to the congregation and the video be played for the congregation at the first congregation meeting after its receipt. In many cases, this will be at the conclusion of the Watchtower Study on October 4, 2015. Of course, in some parts of the world, the next congregation meeting will be the Service Meeting during the week of October 5, 2015. At circuit assemblies and conventions, the letter will be read by the last speaker on the program at the conclusion of his talk. The video should also be played if possible. Otherwise, the video should be played at the next congregation meeting. We are providing this advance notice so that all can be prepared to receive the letter and video. Please keep this notice confidential. We send our warm Christian love. Your brothers,

Off the top of my head - stupid recruits are better than no recruits. Also, it could be a method to get their foot in the door to hopefully recruit other family members.

I've seen it said on this forum so many times, but I didn't think I'd be saying it so soon - I've been out 5 months and I don't recognize the cult that I left. I guess there was a trend leading towards this for a while, but the cult is just so completely watered down and the focus is so clearly on emotional manipulation now compared to at least somewhat pseudo-intellectual content before. At least currently with the bible highlights someone can research any topic they wanted and give a comment from that week's reading - they've shut that down and now provide the questions. I guess they heard of too many people commenting on things like genocide and how the desert god couldn't defeat the people that had iron chariots.

Another thought - it sounds like they're trying to rebrand slightly and make this more like a youth church group. I've never been involved with such a thing, but the names of the parts sound like something I'd expect to hear about from the rabid bible-thumpers that I knew in grade school. Can't put my finger on it, but it really seems to me like they're trying to better appeal to the younger generation.

Yes it's aimed at children to get them baptised early and trap them in the cult. I am outraged at this. So even if they opt for higher education and well paid jobs they are still trapped and part of the cult. Perhaps even MS and elders running the the business for the GB
