If I were a betting man.

I would venture to say the GB will be taken away "invisibly" so to speak. If anything.

To the Canary Islands or something like that.

Jokes aside, judging by how the sided with W.H.O. on vaccinations 100% I expect them to stay put and go through the Great Tribulation telling the Witnesses to submit to the Antichrist by "submitting to the higher authorities " or take the mark of the beast because it is a mandate from the higher authorities, of course they will be taken away by angels at the End of the Tribulation to be burned with the rest of the "weeds" never to be seen again

Edited found new info: "When does the marriage take place? All the 144,000 will be in heaven just before the war of Armageddon is fought. However, that will not be the time for the marriage of the Lamb. (Read Revelation 21:1, 2.) The marriage of the Lamb takes place after the war of Armageddon has been fought and all of God’s enemies have been removed. WT May 2022 p. 17

So new info: Marriage of Christ takes place AFTER the war of Armageddon has been fought...But no supporting evidence

Blondie, and others, Isn't it possible that since the Revelation was given, that God altered it and things will be different from what was expected?

But we know that after Jesus became king in 1914 and cleansed the heavens, the dead in Christ were raised first then after that, those who are living, and then die would instantly be raised. That's elementary and explained by Paul in 1 Thess 4 and 1 Cor 15 So why is this question even asked?

Rattigan350, your question blows away everything the WTS has pounded into the heads of jws. If non-jws have different opinions, that is not really why I pointed this out. The WTS is always "adjusting" or "clarifying" (the WTS definitions) their teachings when a question comes up. Yes, will all the anointed be in heaven when the marriage of Jesus and the Bride of Christ are married? So now the WTS says the marriage will be after Armageddon, but still all the anointed have to be in heaven, No holdovers for those who won't be dying a "natural" death. Going to heaven before that has sounded like the "rapture" to me.

Saint Peter apparently was raised in the spring of 1918.

1918: This year is critical to current Watch Tower eschatology. Firstly, in the spring of 1918, the first resurrection commenced and the apostles and faithful anointed ones who had died were raised invisibly to heavenly life.

“The resurrection of the anointed Christians, who number 144,000, is to spirit life in heaven and it began to occur in 1918 C.E., after the establishment of the heavenly Kingdom in 1914.“ WT June 1, 1970 p. 331 "Faith to the Preserving Alive of the Soul”

“In 1918 he (the apostle Peter) was resurrected to the heavens along with the other faithful members of Christ’s congregation who had died prior to that time. “(WT February 15, 1966 p. 123 “Does Peter Now Use the Keys of the Kingdom?”

“Those who died prior to the establishment of the Kingdom were resurrected at the time of Jehovah's coming to the temple with his messenger of the covenant in 1918.” WT 67 8/1 p. 455 A New Administration of Earth's Affairs

“The Watchtower has long presented the view that this resurrection of anointed Christians from death commenced in the year 1918.” WT 86 10/1 p. 14 Comfort From the God of Peace

Curiously though, for close to 50 years prior to 1927, the Watch Tower Society, based on other eschatological calculations, taught that the first resurrection began in 1878.

In 1878 the process of setting up the kingdom began. The Lord raised the sleeping saints. WT 6/1/1922, p.174

Our Lord's resurrection occurred three and a half years after his advent as the Messiah, in A.D. 29; and the resurrection of his body, the Church, we have seen, was due in the year 1878, three and a half years after his second advent, in October 1874." Thy Kingdom Come p. 305

It was only in 1927 that that the date for the first resurrection was changed to 1918

"One of the many enlightening truths that God now gave his witnesses was about the members of God's spiritual nation who had died physically. This was in 1927. In that year the witnesses understood that the dead spiritual Israelites had been raised in 1918 to life in heaven with Christ Jesus. It was an invisible resurrection, of course." From Paradise Lost to Paradise Regained p.192

Them saying the resurrection started in 1918 shows that they were wrong about saying it started in 1878.

If the resurrection truly started in 1918 that means for 40 years they were claiming the resurrection occurred before it actually did.

Would Paul apply this to the WTS leading men during the years of 1878-1918?

[ 18 These men have deviated from the truth, saying that the resurrection has already occurred, and they are subverting the faith of some.]

What about today in 2024 if the resurrection didn't occur starting in 1918?

It didn't start then, 106 years ago. It does not start until Jesus comes after the GT. When he comes, with him comes the start of God's kingdom. When he comes it is what is considered to be the 'last day'. This is when the first resurrection occurs, and the 1,000 years begin.

[8 However, do not let this escape your notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.]

[ 39 This is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose none out of all those whom he has given me, but that I should resurrect them on the last day.]

[24 “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, 25 and the stars will be falling out of heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken. 26 And then they will see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then he will send out the angels and will gather his chosen ones together from the four winds, from earth’s extremity to heaven’s extremity.]

[4 And I saw thrones, and those who sat on them were given authority to judge. Yes, I saw the souls of those executed for the witness they gave about Jesus and for speaking about God, and those who had not worshipped the wild beast or its image and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand. And they came to life and ruled as kings with the Christ for 1,000 years.6 Happy and holy is anyone having part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no authority, but they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and they will rule as kings with him for the 1,000 years.]

Vanderhoven7 : 1918: This year is critical to current Watch Tower eschatology.

No longer. It is simply an interesting possibility. The Watchtower of January 1, 2007 discussed the first resurrection and says :

Jesus Christ was anointed as the future King of God’s Kingdom in the fall of 29 C.E. Three and a half years later, in the spring of 33 C.E., he was resurrected as a mighty spirit person. Could it, then, be reasoned that since Jesus was enthroned in the fall of 1914, the resurrection of his faithful anointed followers began three and a half years later, in the spring of 1918? That is an interesting possibility. Although this cannot be directly confirmed in the Bible, it is not out of harmony with other scriptures that indicate that the first resurrection got under way soon after Christ’s presence began.

The same Watchtower is slightly more positive that the first resurrection started between 1914 and 1935, but while 1914 is the terminus post quem, the terminus ante quem of 1935 is "indicated" but not certain.

What, then, can we deduce from the fact that one of the 24 elders identifies the great crowd to John [Revelation 7:13,14] ? It seems that resurrected ones of the 24-elders group may be involved in the communicating of divine truths today. Why is that important? Because the correct identity of the great crowd was revealed to God’s anointed servants on earth in 1935. If one of the 24 elders was used to convey that important truth, he would have had to be resurrected to heaven by 1935 at the latest. That would indicate that the first resurrection began sometime between 1914 and 1935.

That’s an interesting quote from 2007, but hasn’t WT since dropped 1935 as a significant date related to the selection of the anointed? If so, that would tend to suggest 1935 no longer has any bearing on the timing of the first resurrection either.

Thanks for the correction Earnest. Now, as with other things, "We just don't know." applies. Add to that, "but we pretended to know for the past 70 years".
