Perhaps 1914 teaches us something even more obvious.
"19:14 o clock" is rather the daily possibilty of the abrupt end of wicked men.
Dont forget that JW teach the world will in no case end, it will never be destroyed and not the possesions, but what else could and will then end? Natch: The rule of wicked men on this planet, wicked organisations, big bad business, war business, governments, religions... Some guys predicted there own end. Haha
But you good guys each day at 19:14 can feel save you will by no mean pass away at 19:14 if you are clean.

wt, by switching from the above understanding to the anointed 2 group-generation, the idea in that new light, that teaches the partakers to be called to heaven prior to Armageddon, --makes it impossible for Jesus' words to possibly apply to the wt prophecies. Hey, all generations will pass away
PS: this quote above is from the "paradise" book, and of course you have to go through Armageddon to get to Paradise. the newly fangled 2 group anointed partaker generation will be gone before Armageddon, are not the generation that will not pass away.

The original teaching was that the world would end, finito! in 1914. When the world did not, in fact, end that year an explanation had to be devised. That's where the '1914 generation' teaching came from. Something to distract from the fiasco of Armageddon not coming. Which set the JWs up for another fiasco down the line. The 'overlapping generation' is just a way to shove the problem off a little longer for some future GB to explain away. -

Oh come on everyone....don't you all know that: "this generation" actually means :
"this extended period of time that can be up to many generations that overlap but are yet contemporaries, yet may be hundreds of years apart"!!?

The only problem with that is that the word generation throughout the gospels has only 2 usages/meanings: either from one set of parents to the next or the people then living. For example, the Greek word “genea” (pronounced ghen-eh-ah') appears thirteen times in Matthew's gospel. Four times it is used to delineate “one set of parents to the next”. Ignoring Matthew 24:34 for the moment, in every other appearance, including 6 of the instances Matthew places the definite article “this” (houtos) before “generation”, “this generation” (houtos genea), in context, clearly cover the same group of people -i.e. “Christ's faithless contemporaries”
