The "its too late to fix" line is defeatist.

Saying 'doing this or that' will stop the "change" would be a lie. Change is happening folks, get used to change, get used to more expensive storms and extreme weather. It cannot at this point be stopped but it can be limited to situations that we/ our children's children can deal with.

There are too many people on the planet using too many resources.

Given that we don’t know for sure the true scale of the problem, ranging from mild adversity or an unstoppable catastrophe, maybe the appropriate response is adopt extreme measures to reverse climate change. Because who knows, maybe our efforts might just fall within the range that makes a crucial difference. It might not, but given the seriousness of the possible consequences, doesn’t that make it worth at least trying? This is not a moralistic approach but a pragmatic one.

SBF - I have never suggested there isn't a problem nor that action isn't necessary.

That doesn't change the fact that environmentalism has become a secular religion complete with dogma, apocalyptic hysteria, utopian fantasies and messianic leaders.

Or in fact if there even is a problem. It's not like the climate models have ever been remotely accurate.

If it's so critical, then why the need to obfuscate the evidence and fake data?

I don't see it, the weather is the same as always, sometimes a little hotter, sometimes a little colder, it varies. There were heatwaves 100 years ago, conveniently missed off most of the alarmists charts.

If it was so important, people should be making data available yet time and time again it turns out to have been fudged because right now you only get funding if you wave climate-change flags.

The government is paying for the message it wants to justify arbitrary taxes yet there is no evidence that those taxes affect the environment at all.

    It's almost like it's a convenient hoax.

Not every one passionate about something is in a cult. I have a degree in renewable energy, none of my classmates or instructors were weird or given to extremism. They did have concern, saw opportunity and wanted to learn more. I tinker restoring cars and had some real odd ones. One was a 1975 Zagato Zele. It was sadly a POS with build quality but the idea was right. The timing was good but the technology was primitive. With proper investment we could have progressed to Tesla much sooner.

(Seems to be the only photo I have left, wheels were not yet installed.)

My point is sometimes the wackos of one generation are the heroes of the next.

And why are you taking issue with a young lady wanting to make a statement about something she believes in. I've not heard anyone suggesting looking to Greta Thunberg for life direction or asking her for divine favor. lol.

You simply have to wean off the teat of the angry far right man.

If environmentalists would just admit this simple fact it would be a great start to communicating the actual problem
