Does anyone know why the written review was stopped? I relished the half hour silence they'd give you to "write down your answers", time i spend doodling or thinking up cool song lyrics.

here is a try: The questions were bible based, and the bible, they know raises too many unanswered questions, ' they dread the ones coming up: : a generation is

    a) the period between mother and daughter giving birth, like in genealogies,

    b) the combined ages of a contemporaneous patriarchs or

    c) in modern times, overlapping groups. oops!

I think they stopped some time in the late 90's / early 00's.

There was an "oral review" afterward for a number of years. Always sounded slightly kinky.

And since 2016, of course, there is no more "Theocratic Ministry School" any more, so no more oral.

    Ahem.

    Oral reviews, that is.

Lol yeah, the "oral" review. Always sounded like an article from Cosmo circa "Sex and the City" era.

From about 1970 each individual graded their own written review paper as the answers wer read out.

Prior to this the papers were collected in at the end of the review and graded by the Ministry School Servant. They were returned the following week and the average score read out along with the the highest score. Two or three "troublesome questions" were then reviewed.

The answer sheet often used the phrase: "or substance".

Even with the answer sheet, some MSS's had difficulty with this!

I remember it fostering competition among the congregation. So many used it for bragging rights. It was busy work. Me no like.

Does anyone know why the written review was stopped?

It had that dangerous effect of making people think (to a certain degree). Nowadays they've figured how to let the brain slowly rot by sticking on Sparlock cartoons and Tight Pants Tony.

I remember when the r&f turned in their exam where it was graded and given back. I was just a kid. So, I never actually turned in my exam.

Written review was discontinued sometime in 2003. It was oral review until the Theocratic Ministry School was done away with in early 2016.

Yeah, when you come to think about it, ''oral review'' always didn't sound kind of ''kinky'' , or weird.

'oral' ahem, yeah in the ministry school, sounds bizarre, now it's just Christian life ministry.
