Does anyone celebrate valentines day since leaving the Borg? And which other celebrations if any do you now take part in?

Birthdays and bit of Christmas, not very much if anything.
One thing that's valuable once your free from the mind control of a cult like the JWS is that you can evaluate on your own whats good and not so good to participate in.
I'm down on Halloween because I think its not psychologically healthy or either nutritionally healthy for children.

We should add this to our list of celebrations, the day we walked away from JW.org., the day when our eyes were opened. But what would be a fitting celebration?????

- The day we took our lives back

The cult freedom day is what we call our "shunniversary".
The first year I tried to get a bunch of local exjws together and it bombed. Only one showed up.
Last year I started the "shunned" podcast on my second Shunniversary.
Aside from that, we don't do Valentines Day because my wife hates how forced and all about women it is.
We do the rest though. We love Halloween, Thanksgiving, have a very secular Christmas, New Years, even fireworks on the 4th of July. A friend has an adult Easter egg hunt and we did that last year. Have fun and enjoy these little things to look forward to throughout the year.

I celebrate whatever strikes my fancy at the time. I always get flowers on Valentines from my husband. Christmas - sometimes we go all out sometimes not. Birthdays are usually a nice dinner together or sometimes the casino 😮

A married couple (JW) were sitting in a fine restaurant when the wife look over at a nearby table and sees a man in a drunken stupor. The husband asks "I notice you've been watching that man for some time now. Do you know him?" "Yes" she replies. "He's my ex-husband and DF. He has been drinking like that since our divorce and his DF for 7years." "That's remarkable", the husband replies. "I wouldn't think anybody could celebrate that long".

JW's ruined God and religion for me so I don't see any point in taking part of anything that is in any way religious but I do put up lights on the house in winter because it's kind of cheery.
It would have been nice to celebrate holidays as a kid but now, I don't participate in anything that has anything to do with religion. If I'm invited to some sort of holiday party,I'll go but it's not because the holiday means anything to me.
I have always acknowledged my kids birthdays even when I was a JW....never could buy into all that nonsense about John the Baptist etc.
The rest of the holidays such as Valentines day and Mother's day etc seem like a nice thought but they also seem so obligatory and cliche'. I don't like anyone telling me when it's time to give someone else a gift and that I'm a bad guy if don't buy them one, especially if that person is trying to sell something. (luckily my wife agrees)
We celebrate our wedding anniversary without fail.

I celebrate all festivals because purpose of all festivals is to give a break from the hectic, mundane life style. Interestingly, the word for festival in many Eastern languages is utsav (meaning, that which elevates your mind) just like mandir (temple) which also means the same.
