I'm thinking of making a video. I see there is an explosion of them recently by ex-JWs which I believe is a good thing.
If you've done it, what easy-to-learn and use app did you use? How much did it cost? Did you use your phone video or your tablet video or a special camera video capability?

I'm looking forward to all the feedback, suggestions and the like. One thing for sure...you want your equipment/device to have exceptional audio capability!
You can use your phone, laptop webcam, etc. You don't need a fancy setup.
I use a camera like this (can't remember the exact model offhand) :
I don't use the auto focus because it keeps trying to focus and gets annoying. I just turn that off so I can gesture or move without it out-thinking itself.
I don't use the built in mic. I use a Samson Go Mic.
Both are plugged into my laptop.
The camera has its own recording software. It's dead simple to use. For editing, if I wish to which I almost never do, I use Camtasia. I think it can be pricey but I got it in a special charity sale bundled with other things at a ridiculously cheap price.
I don't care to research every detail for you as I feel like I've literally answered this same question on here, possibly even for you, but figure 70 for camera plus 50 for that mic to start. There's so many ways to do this. You don't likely have to spend much. Some people have super nice studios. It's not necessary unless you're trying to monetize and be super professional.

It's very easy to use your mobile phone or a cheap video camera, the sound quality is good if you are close to the camera / phone. If you want to increase the quality of the sound, you can put an external microphone to connect to your phone / camera.
Software you can download "Microsoft Movie Maker" it is FREE of charge to download and use. It's simple also, you may have to play around with it to get used to it, otherwise there are YouTube videos explaining how to use it. It also gives you the option to save as a YouTube movie file, so it is easier to upload. You can also increase the quality of the sound on this program as well.

Next, create a YouTube account, again this is FREE of charge, and you can upload as many videos as you want, free of charge. There is no limit.
If you have a laptop and a mobile phone camera / video camera the only expense you would have to purchase is an external microphone.. again that is optional, however it would only cost around 10 pounds / 12 dollars.
It is cheap and easy to create videos on YouTube.

I'd start with using your phone or any existing webcam before investing too much in equipment upfront.
There's free software you can use to do both livestreams and captures (https://obsproject.com/) and video editing software based on your platform.
Please, for the love of god, do some editing. It really seems like some ExJWs don't know how to use 10 words when they could use 10,000 and take 30 minutes to say what could be said in 1. IMO shorter videos that are to the point and much better.

Just add the name of a famous celebrity and "naked" in the title, hits will follow.
