    Reverse shun these arseholes

pale.emperor: That's what I would do. Except that I would not have the courtesy of telling them that or anything else. I'd keep in the dark. When they ask out of wonder if I'm dead or wonder if something happened to me, then I would respond telling them that I'm protecting myself from bad association from them for several reasons, including that they are in a cult and have given up their intellect to a lying organization.

My family is not like that. But they live 3,000 miles away and seem to be aware that I'm still alive. Once in a while, they seem to know what I'm up to.

I had a convo with my aunt, a pioneer, yesterday. She is dying from cancer, stage 4 and was telling me her Armageddon hope. Maybe Trump/n. Korea is giving them hope for a swift end to this system of things. She is rather in denial that we will all die from something. Anyway, I'm not doing a lot of bubble popping with her. She is the one person I know who really needs her cult to function in the world-but she was conditioned and trained from birth to go off the rails when out of it. Those are her options. Good jw with marginal but respectable employment/govt dependentcy or addicted promiscuous loser slob. Nothing in between.

This is why you can't argue the Bible or religion with JWs. All one can do is point out that man has proved a lot of the Bible writings as wrong and that the Bible itself is full of contradictions, mathematical, scientific mistakes and prophecies that didn't come true!

Typical shock tactics pale...where's Jesus' love? Almost always the same cards... "last days", "armageddon", "look what's happening in the world" bla bla bla...FEAR FEAR FEAR!!!

Your example and behaviour is a so much better witness than their paranoia and after so many failed prophecies, how does someone even dare to text that "Armageddon is just around the corner. It's like being 1 minute to midnight..."?

So that's it folks. We should all worship Jehovah the GB because if we dont he'll kill us all. Sounds like a lovely relationship.

Fixed that for you. One can't worship Jehovah and be okay. They must worship the GB, the GB trumps Jehovah. According to the GB, Jehovah wont' give spirit or insight, it's all through the GB themselves and if you are not worshipping the GB and fully listening, even if it goes against your conscience or not sound or logical reasoning, then you'll die.

It's a bad thing when you have to choose between church and family, this role of cutting off families comes from different directions in JWs , because when people come in they cut off wordly family due to celebrations. Then there's Disfellowshipping which what can I say has emotional crushing abilities . The church has secured a stranglehold on the family arrangement. But one must rise above emotional blackmail and live true to oneself. And by the way Pale I think you will die at Armageddon because you truthfully relayed the 1975 convention recordings. History has a good track record of those speaking truth getting killed.

I would ask your sister why she loves a god who wants to murder you for the mere crime of not kissing His ass. Why would she worship someone so heartless and cruel? If she loves you, and she loves Him, then why would He murder someone she loves? How can she have a shred of respect for the person that wants to murder her brother. And if she were God, would she honestly do the same?

Furthermore, where does the Bible say you're going to be destroyed? All I've ever heard on the subject is that, only AFTER all the obvious signs of Armageddon, when God has proven His existence to the entire world, if you choose to "take the mark" i.e. follow Satan, only THEN will you be destroyed. After all, it wouldn't be fair to all the atheists and believers in other gods and mentally handicapped people and primitive tribes all over the world who cannot be blamed for their beliefs, or lack thereof, for God to straight up murder them at Armageddon without first proving Himself to them and giving them the chance to choose His side.

Oh, and if that's not enough, ask her why she thinks she's above Jesus, who chose to dine with sinners because "healthy people have no need of doctors," and who washed the feet of His disciples. If He can humble Himself and extend that much compassion to others, then your sister is pretty much required to do the same. Aren't we all expected to follow Jesus' example?

"your family sounds like the Adams family,"

How do you come to that conclusion? The Addams family were actually very open-minded and accepting of everyone, even those whose lifestyles they didn't agree with (i.e. almost everyone).

because my memory failing fast as either death or Armageddon overtakes me, was a reference to their being what we here in UK viewed as freaks, freaky. Loved the programme. Perhaps a better comparison to the title of Dickens novel Bleak House. PEs family certainly live in them
