Yeah is the idea of wickedness being aloud in the world so we know Satan is wrong and Jah is right yet just when things look good for Jehovahs side he kills every body. And they call me crazy.
and btw, that man on the rock waving at Noah's ark should embarrassed to wear a pink mini-skirt. That's probably why Gawd killed him.
Nephilim before the flood and after the flood, Numbers 13:33. Someone managed to tread water for 40 days and nights, and they became like grasshoppers in their sight. So I guess the Nephilim's were so tall the flood didn't wipe them out, their heads above water you might say..
Why couldn't he just have inprisioned the bad guys in a bubble cage floating through space like in the Superman movie?
millie210 : And dont forget the incest! (Lot and his daughters.)
True, but a 'male-rape' incident, that is more closely linked to the 'flood story' and the "fathful" family that survives the flood, is the little discussed incident, mentioned in Genesis ch. 9.
The context is that the one surviving family comes out of the ark and set's about making a 'new' life for themselves. Humans being naturally rather horny, (just as well, given YHWH's penchant for destroying people) there's soon some babies, most of whom are faceless and nameless as far as the Genesis record goes, but Genesis 9: verse mentions one of Ham's sons, namely Canaan. The only reason Canaan is mentioned may have something to do with the story that follows (you'll see).
Verse 20 has Noah planting a vineyard (with vines that seem to have been miraculously preserved given their 12 month immersion in the darkness of the deep flood waters. When the grapes are ripe, old Noah makes some wine - and Oh! dear! the sin of drunkeness is revived on the cleansed earth.
But worse things follow, (as christians always warn us), getting pissed will lead to other sins.
Right at this point its a good idea to read the biblical account, then we can better follow the discussion: Genesis 9: 20 - 27 reads:
20 Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded[a] to plant a vineyard. 21 When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent. 22 Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father naked and told his two brothers outside. 23 But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their father’s naked body. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father naked.
24 When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him, 25 he said, “Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers.”
26 He also said, “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Shem! May Canaan be the slave of Shem. 27 May God extend Japheth’s[b] territory; may Japheth live in the tents of Shem, and may Canaan be the slave of Japheth. NIV”
Now we should go to the Aid Book (because JWS' have the truth, right?), and under the heading Canaan (p.284), the rhetorical question is asked as to why Canaan is cursed and not Ham? The WTS, then quotes from a Jewish publication, The Pentateuch and the Haftorahs, noting that the Genesis narrative "refers to some abominable deed in which Canaan seems to be implicated."
The Aid book then quotes from The Soncino Chumash, which refers to a belief that Canaan " ... indulged a perverted lust upon Noah."
So you now have the full picture, you can can imagine old Noah, blind drunk, laying on his tummy, his bare arse pointing up in the air, then into the tent comes horny young Canaan, tent, no doubt intent on having a "fine, theocratic" conversation with Noah, and sees the bare-arsed old man lying there, Canaan's male organ goes zing, and he rips into old Noah. Afterwards he comes out of the tent, sees Shem and Japheth, and says, "Hey! guess what guys? I found the old man pissed and naked, so I screwed him."
Yeah! right? Rapists always skite, dont they?
The above explanation is discussed again under the section on Noah (p.1230) with some slight changes.
It's also repeated in Nathan's attempt to get rid of " wrong thinking" in the Aid book's revision known as "Insight on the Scriptures." The section under Canaan is almost word for word from the Aid book, the section under Noah is white-washed.
So yes! drunkeness and sexual sin soon returned to the cleansed earth. Re-introduced by the family saved through the destructive flood.

This biblical story reminds me of a WHO song:

Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss
That is something I always wondered about, especially as it relates to Armageddon. Like, Jehovah could destroy Satan, the demons, and every wicked person. But what guarantees that there won't be an angel right after Satan who decides to go down to Paradise, mislead some people, and start the whole thing all over again?
But what guarantees that there won't be an angel right after Satan who decides to go down to Paradise, mislead some people, and start the whole thing all over again?
The Matrix trilogy brought up this similar circular conundrum in their world. The Anomaly (Super human rebel leader) kept popping up in the Matrix Construct after every reset. The reset happened after all the rebel humans were destroyed by the machines on the final battle day. One machine for every one human in battle. Sounds like one angel for every bad human with Armageddon.
As has already been pointed out, the Nephalim were recorded as STILL existing years after the flood.
SO, either Jehovah didn't kill them all in a big flood, OR the bible writers cant be trusted to tell the truth!
Which is it?
Either way, it makes "Jehovah" a liar...
