: I will give you some quotes from the article: "Soon we will have the privilege of being Jehovah's guests at the 2003 ' Give God Glory' Disctrict Convention. How thankful we are to Jehovah for inviting us to such a rich spiritual feast! We can demonstrate our reverence for Him and our appreciation for his spiritual provisions by the way we dress and groom ourselves......Being balanced in the use of jewelry, makeup, and other adornments is a wise course for Christian women to follow.Brothers should avoid styles that reflect the thinking of the world. For example, in some lands baggy, oversized clothing is popular, but this style does not present a fitting appearance for a minister of God."......
Yeah, well, Abraham didn't think so, and neither did Jesus, as "baggy, oversized clothing" was what they wore. Do you think that the animal skins that Adam and Eve made were fitted properly and not "oversized and baggy?"
What a pile of crap.
Socks reflect "the thinking of the world" fer Christ's sake! Therefore, "Brothers" shouldn't wear socks, because "the world" dictates that socks are the normal attire. Shoes also "reflect the thinking of the world." So do eyeglasses, hats, underwear, bras, jock straps, shorts, T-shirts, suits, ties, vests, and a whole bunch of other types of clothing.
The WTS hasn't defined exactly WHAT "the thinking of the world" actually means. So "the thinking of the world" means anything they say it means. Idiotic, clueless manipulators those WTS leaders.
When I was a teenager, a "Beatles" haircut was considered "the thinking of the world." Today, a "Beatles" haircut is considered ultimately modest and conservative.
These Pharisees are so clueless that it is laughable. I will rejoice when they are all dead. No one will mourn them and many (like me) will rejoice when they hit their eternal dirt nap or face their Maker and answer for their all-too-many sins over the decades.
