... in case the U.K. Charities Commission summons them - like the Australian Royal Commission snared Mr. Jackson? Why else would they be sending two of their personal boot-lickers?

You may well be right Searcher, the G.B will have seen the pathetic efforts of their fellow member, G.J, on the stand, and think "we can't have the On-line backlash that provoked happening again !"
The only way they might get away with it would be to send old Rubber-Face, that way no-one could follow what he said, his facial contortions are just so distracting.
Sorry I thought you meant the abuse inquiry where JWs are not included. But I see you said the charity commission. Are they running an inquiry too?
The 12 investigations announced are the first twelve to be worked on. The inquiry will look at any and all abuse involving children over any time period Justice Goddard and her team decide is needed.
edit: "These 12 investigations constitute the first phase of the Inquiry’s work and further investigations will be announced as the Inquiry progresses."

There is also a charity commission investigation into JWs as a whole in Britain, as well as two into specific congregations.
Keep in mind the wt lawyers tried various excuses to keep Jackson off the stand but the justice told them he would be appearing. His last interview was I believe a telecast.
But yes the wts has had its backside stung and they will chain gb members to a tree rather than let them go to Britain and risk them being collared into the UK inquiry.
Oh hell! When I read read this my heart sank.. Another 3 hour marathon boredom session on a weekend , that I will be pressured to attend....
The Charities Commission investigation into the JWs is separate to the National Institutional enquiry

does anyone know how this is progressing?
