  What do I think will be the next big change in the Watchtower?

  Hard bound Bibles will be replaced by electronic devices. Oh...sorry that's already happening!
  

  Rank & file JWs just stand and no longer have to talk while in field ministry. Oh...sorry that's already happening!

  ATM machines at Circuit and Regional conventions, Oh damn it...that's already happening!

  Downsizing...congregation after congregation soon to be dissolved with lots & lots of Kingdom Hall sell-offs. Oh shit...that's already going on!

  No more converts being baptized at Circuit & Regional conventions, Oh hell...that's already happening!

  Use Big screen monitors in every Kingdom Hall to pacify rank & file the way parents use TVs at home to baby-sit their kids. Sorry again...already being done!

  Beats me...what the next big change will be!

  TM3 or Sanderson will appear on a Special ( what else ) Video Presentation, announcing that Overlapping Dead Sea Scrolls discovered in disused old room as they cleared out Brooklyn. Scrolls show that the Governing Body are blest with smartphones access straight to Js Throne and so any hint of or actual statement they make is absolutely true and just as if straight from Js mouth. The Scrolls further reveal that the use of the Ancient word corresponding to “Special” when used to introduce anything from Hall Cleaning to End of the World Tomorrow, is directly blest by J. Also that Donation requests (demands) are always “Special” and so must be obeyed immediately. And finally that no one, apart from the Governing Body, in all humility, is ever, or must be viewed as “Special” Non G B servants of J are not servants but slaves with no place other than to donate and with no rights.

  as a business the watchtower cult looks tasty. lots of paid for real estate. several million volunteer members contributing cash regularly. very fat war chest of cash and assets.

  just ripe for a hostile takeover.

  If they started getting taxed , it would end the Watchtower. They really are more of a business than a religion, kind of like Scientology.

  Define “they”. If you mean the WTB&TS, I would imagine you would hear an announcement from the platform that the WTB&TS is no longer accepting donations. But if a loyal and generous JW wishes to donate, then there happens to be this other legal entity (say, “The World Wide Work Fund) that just happens to be five legal steps removed from the WT. Donate to that... and somehow everything keeps running.

  I like Vidiot's loss of charitable status, this would lead to the need for the org to start paying paying taxes. This will precipitate the sale of a ALL kh's and a fundamental shift to a new JW TV evangelism movement. Its unpopularity will eventually lead to closing down the whole organisation.

  In the meantime, loyalty to the org leading to being spared at Big A would then involve compulsory screen viewing. The present leadership would have to be dismissed in favour of actors who have been re-imaged in the celebrity mould. The contrived mechanical gestures and speaking style of the present presenters scream insincerity and total control (but perhaps JW zombification leads the flock to accepting it as natural?)

  They can't drop 1914 and 1919 since they have carefully fostered the myth that these dates represent divine prophecy being fulfilled by them--which is of course utter rubbish.
