We did our hall cleaning after the midweek meeting. Everyone wanted to go home, so we gott-er done pronto!!!
Once a month we did the deep cleaning and outside chores. 1 pm on Sat. Got it done in an hour.
No "special" memories.

I remember being entrusted by my elder Dad along with my younger brother to go and clean the hall by ourselves.
He was puzzled why we were so keen. It was about 1982 and our KH had a brilliant sound system.
We blasted out The Jam, The Beatles, Pink Floyd at top volume as we cleaned the hall - happy days!

My little brother gave the game away and my elder dad laid into me.
I said 'elder Joe cleaned the hall last week whilst playing his Mantovani records.' Dad said 'That's different..'

In my experience, Hall cleaning has not been too bad - as said earlier, it's usually over in about an hour, and where I am the mood is fairly relaxed, not like the example given of having to dismantle all the tools after every session and clean the parts, etc, like some kind of military boot camp!
One thing that does make a big difference to me is the background - I'd much rather work in silence with just the chatter of brothers and sisters, but lately the brother taking the lead will insist on putting on "Kingdom songs" on the speaker system throughout the building while we're working - and worse, the vocal versions, with their exaggerated and weird intonations, or those awful "additional" songs that are like even poorer versions of 'Christian' pop or Disney numbers.
When that happens, I try to retreat to a part of the hall where the speakers don't reach and clean there - or offer to do the hoovering so I can drown out the sound! 🤣

I was so upset when I got removed as an elder For going to college and wearing a beard that I have to admit it passed my mind for a second to take a big old dump in the lobby and then leave my key in the door. Sorry I would never do that. But I thought about it and then I thought about the Sister that would have to clean up so I didn’t do it, but I did think about it. :)
