Advise is the verb, e.g. I advise you not to get baptised.

Advice is the noun, e.g. I was given good advice.

A guy in the U.K has an excellent radio Show, Shaun Keevney on Six Music, he had a slot on there he called "Pendants Corner" to discuss stuff like this, of course the irony was a number of people 'phoned in over the years to point out it "should have been called Pedant's Corner " .

Mind you, I've heard BBC newsreaders get that one wrong.
