Excellent article, Ding.
But would they deny that article today? After all, that was 1972.

I suppose we could say, until it's rescinded, then it remains as current teaching.

The WTS publishing house has been centralized around prophesy, ie. return of Christ in 1874 Armageddon to come in 1914, then 1914 the new date of the return of Christ and the end times in progress with the great tribulation to follow soon.
One could say the WTS sold its prophecies through its published literature.
The WTS is guilty of doctrinal corruption
Ironically Jesus warned about setting dates upon god's own sacred time and instructed his followers to not listen to these false prophet people.
It would fair to say JWS do not read the bible thoroughly.
Jws have been lured and exploited into serving the WTS , not Jesus Christ or the father.

The FDS used to refer to itself as being a prophet class ("Elijah class", "Jeremiah class", "Ezekiel class", etc.), however, it (the FDS) realized that by referring to itself as a prophet class, it was opening itself up to having De 18:20-22 applied to it for its failed predictions. Therefore, it began to refrain from referring to itself as a prophet class.
De 18:20-22 (KJV):
20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken?
22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
Another example of the reactive policy-making and doctrine-changing of the org. It changes policy and doctrine to cover its behind - not because of deep study and understanding of Scripture and guidance by God. -

They will claim that they are prophets in the sense that they proclaim God's word as found in scripture. But they are not inspired prophets as in the Old Testament sense who heard directly from God and as a result could say "thus saith the Lord" while predicting upcoming world events.

But then they continue to push articles saying to follow the words of the governing body just like words from the mouth of God.

Some have said the JWS are guided by Satan for all of their lies and deceptions , I can understand why.
Maybe its Satan's earthly organization ?
