No problem and no need to apologize, we are all entitled to our views and the respect part is mutual I assure you. I may not agree with your views but that is just a little part of life.
As to my 'condescedning' post, I presume it is this one :
There seems to be an historical attitude that prevails in US Government circles that the whole world is either American or aspiring to be so when they grow up.
This is a criticism of US Government Foreign Policy, not of the American people, and I stand by my statement. When President states, and seriously at that in a White House staff briefing, "Of course they want to be American, who in their right mind would not want to be?" it takes the word 'condescending' and turns it into an art exhibit! It may surprise him to know that many in their 'right mind' are quite happy with not being American.
