"Jehovah" and the less emphasized "Jesus." WHY?

There has always been less emphasis on Jesus, and more on the name Jehovah. If Jesus played for the WTBTS baseball team, he would play right field. He would be good enough to start but by playing right field, he wouldn't see too many baseballs hit his way. Jehovah would be the manager and starting pitcher for the WTBTS team.

The Society decided to name itself "Jehovah's Witnesses." There had to be a reason why we weren't named "Jesus Witnesses."

What do you think is the real reason WTBTS ( the organization) uses/over uses the name Jehovah?

I never understood their apparent dislike for Jesus. Sure, they give lip service now and again but if you talk to jw's or hear some of the comments they have to say about 'Jesus Lovers' you would think they don't much care for the guy. Sometimes I think that they think they are on par with Jesus, meaning their organization is on par.

The real reason they don't mention Jesus much is because they are not Christians.

    Hi R&R,

J.F. Rutherford had to draw a line in the sand to differentiate the Org now under his control from the Bible Students. Enter 1931- the name "Jehovah's Witnesses" is born.

Especially from that point forward, Rutherford began implementing changes to set the new Org apart from Russell's old Org. Henceforth, a slow demise of Jesus...

I also agree with Carla. The Org by means of the GB have tried to take the place of Jesus by inserting themselves as the Mediator between humans and Almighty God.

Gotta confess the name of Jesus to the glory of God the Father, Jehovah. Duh?

Someone on the Governing Body should read this scripture to remind them who is the real ''Mediator.''

Jesus is only there as a cardboard cutout and window dressing as far as I can see.

    LOL!

I truly believed in the life of Jesus. I really enjoyed reading all the parables. I loved all his sayings. His load was light, help widows and orphans, do unto other as you would have them do unto you, forgive each other, do not become anxious about tomorrow...etc. etc. These were sayings that lead me to get baptized.

Then came the Governing Body where they ruined everything. Listening for over forty-five years of Jesus being replaced by Governing Body, Jesus became a side project. Jesus was no where to be seen. Study articles were all about rules, regulations, and procedures of the Watchtower Society.

Now, I don't believe in the Bible or Jesus. Since he was replaced by the WTBTS, Jesus became a stranger who I no longer knew or cared about!

Yep, they lure you in with tasty, comforting chips, guac and a cold beer then the main turns out to be dry toast of GB rules and a shitty pudding cup of GB worship for dessert.

In my opinion, the word Jehovah is used more like a brand for the wt product than as a reference to God. They only use the name Jesus when they recognize that he is supposed to be the leader of the Christian congregation.
