I'm sure the GB will find a way to make any old scripture apply to obeying their crazy decrees. Jeehoober is supposedly a God of justice, yet if the big A comes tomorrow, and your not baptized, you're dead meat.

That makes no sense, but it does help influence child baptism.

Wife is listening to the sample meeting in the other room. I couldn't help but here them once again misapplying the widow scripture. And twisting it to GIVE US YOUR MONENY! Even having the comment given by a very small child.

For those who don't know, this scripture Jesus was highlighting the pigish greed of God's chosen religion of that time. Sound familiar? Not that even a broke widow donated. It wasn't a beautiful illustration it was a sad observation about religion and money. Beyond that mega church hustlers who have come out so to speak and admitted the things they did to screw people admitted using and misapplying this scripture.

You're right fmf. Jesus was not commending the widow for what she had done.

Once again the scripture is taken out of context and the earlier verses confirm what you wrote

They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted with respect in the marketplaces, 39 and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. 40 They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished most severely.”

41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts.42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.
43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”

The focus was not on how much the Widow gave, but why she gave it. Even so, the WTBTS twists the example by claiming that Xianity is some kind of extension of the temple arrangement.

As a matter of fact, JWism could not exist without the above dogma. Did an Elder molest your child? Don't leave the Organization! That would be like a Jew leaving the temple because of a corrupt priest. Is the WTBTS teaching incorrect doctrine? Just go along with it. Otherwise you are taking a stand against God and Jesus. A faithful Jew would have paid his tithes, despite the actions of the religious leaders!

The WTBTS wants the old temple arrangement back! They love it! They need it! The want to be "under law." They are so blinded by legalism that they refuse to allow "spirit and truth" to guide them.

The biggest lie the WTBTS tells itself and others, is that it holds the title of the One True Religion. Once you dispel that false belief, along with the channel of God/ GB dogma, it's a whole new world. That's why the GB must NEVER let up in disseminating propoganda.

They have been twisting, tweaking, adjusting, refining, the same false teachings for well over 100 years. Even so, they are slowly losing credibility and members, and MONEY!! LOL!!!!
