Did you notice in today's Watchtower study article, paragraph 19, the following: "The parties to the new covenant are God and anointed ones. Jesus is the mediator" I'll bet the vast majority if not all the brethren at the meeting today did not grasp the full meaning of these two sentences.

What? You mean the average Watchtower-underlinin' J-dub didn't READ BETWEEN THE LINES and see what is NOT said here? You said they didn't do critical thinking?
Well I didn't when I was inside there either. But their application of that verse ALWAYS bothered me. If Jesus wasn't my mediator as a prospective member of the "great crowd", then why in the world would I pray in his name each time I prayed?

Sounds like the same stuff I keep hearing around here. They are only mentioning the annointed and God .Nothing new there. That's a good point gopher. The annointed can in no way be a mediator for the great crowd now can they? The apostles wrote there is only one mediator between God and man and that is jesus . Jesus said that no one gets to the father exept thru me .

yes. good point. it is not even between the lines. the anointed or 144000 are the only ones that can go to christ even in prayer, but they cant come out and say it as thay would leave in droves. but hey its good to be a second class citizen. the civil rights have not cought up with the tower [yet] the rank and file does not know that thay cant sit in the front of the buss.

Yep, no surprise here.

Years ago there was a WT article about becoming friends with God like Abraham. In that article it stated that God imputed righteousness to the annointed so that he could deal with them as sons. Ordinary humans need not apply.

benext-- that sounds like a total bunch of bs. The word impute means to attribute to in a bad way. Considering all the WT blunders I couldn't imagine any claim to integrity.

I don't have that study article. What WT is it in? page? Are they saying that the annointed are equal to God and Christ is between them and other people? I thought the belief was God, Christ, Annointed, Wt, Co, Elders, peons? Correct me if I'm wrong. Let me know of the beliefs. I only get this info from apostates.

Strange Watchtower lesson, that!
On the one hand it said that the anointed do not need anyone to tell them if they are anointed or not.
On the other hand, the Watchtower then proceeded to do just that: to tell who were anointed and who were not and could not possibly be!
Even if someone has professed to be anointed but came along after some arbitrary date, the legitimacy of their being of the anointed is called into question by the Watchtower, regardless of what the Spirit says to that individual!

Oh happy day,
What happens if they dub you not of the annointed and you already claimed you were?
