Being a staunch evolutionist, I have to say the 'egg' came first of course. There were dinosaur eggs long before there were chickens and the mother of the first chicken was likely a flying reptile.

If the egg came first, who hatched it? els
els; its mum, of course. Evolution is linear as well as radial; realising this makes the chicken-egg arguement kind of like asking which came first, a '58 Mustang or a '59 Mustang.
