Since the Angels that followed satan could take on human form and even have sex and bear offspring to females of earth why would Satan not have used this avenue instead of talking through a snake .? which really makes no common sense ?

Why wouldnt Eve question how a snake could talk? or even reason with a question ?

Wouldnt Eve be more convinced and believed another "human" rather than take the word of a talking snake ?

    Which is the more logical.?

Atheists will say its all BS anyway

What about those who believe the bible is the inspired word of GOD ?

Yes, it's all nonsense that for some reason people love to go on and on and on ad nauseam.

It is because the story, much like the rest of Genesis, was plagiarized from the Sumerian tale of Gilgamesh.

A question I often asked as a imperfect human child knew better than to believe a snake could talk.

The story is true. The snake was handed down over the years to Rudyard Kipling who kept it safe in Jungle Book changing it's name to sapira!!! It roams freely in the jungles of India teaching other snakes how to speak!!

It would be illogical for a human figure to tempt Eve since they thought they were the only two humans. There would be no story if old Tom travel from over the hill( another community) and saw Eve roaming around in the nude..... Eve ask: "who are you and where did you come from"?..... Old Tom:"Just over the hill"...... Eve "I was told we were the first humans"......Someone is pulling your leg, said Tom...... Eve.."what other secrets do you know". And this is where the snake comes in.... What is that bulge in your garment, ask EVE. And so we have the snake story, a naive abandoned child......

Yes, I believe the Bible is the Word of God...A couple of thoughts on this, though speculating beyond the words in the Bible can be fun, it is probably rather pointless...but here goes! ;-)

    1) Snake, yes but...there is a difference...what "spoke" to Eve was not a snake we know as of today, just as the fruit eaten was not an apple. Notice the "Serpent" was subsequently cursed (Genesis 3:14) to move in the dust on the ground; my personal speculative opinion on this is that the curse from God is going to be the most marked impression upon the image of the creature...a sign to everyone looking upon it...I think that whatever it WAS, it used to fly. It may have become the "snake" we now see, which aptly fits the description of the cursed creature.

    2) Even today we have people who are "whisperers"; those with an ability to have their spirit be more interactive with the spirits of other creations of the world (horses, dogs, cats, elephants, even plants)...these are people over 6000 years away from perfection; just imagine the communication abilities of perfect humans in a perfect world, and also remember that Adam and Eve were to have in subjection all creatures of the earth. That would not be (and is not) easy without clear communication. Now for some "educated" speculation, when Noah came out of the Ark, he and his family were told they could eat the animals, but also that a fear/dread of man was going to come over the animals (Genesis 9:2, 3); this was something NEW. What if this new subjugation of animals to man involved taking away the main spiritual ability of inter-species communication? This COULD explain both why it was no surprise to Eve that the serpent was "speaking" with her, and she with it, AND why all animals would suddenly be in fear of man. (Remember what happened when Jehovah confused languages with humans? They scattered according to their new "type" which was language.)

Wow Study buddy. That is a lot of reality contortion to maintain your belief in a literal talking snake.

welcome StudyBuddy. You make interesting assertions. Can I ask what scriptures actually say what you assert as being obvious for all to see? With respect, it just seems that religious people do what I used to do when I was a Xtian and that is take a subject and build on it to make it look credible without their chosen holy book/writings ACTUALLY saying so. It seems to me that believers will make up stuff just to keep their faith alive. Anyway, not having a go, just observing on the back of what you say.

Enjoy the forum. I look forward to a bit of friendly banter with you. Regards PJ

StudyBuddy , you do have an imagination I`ll give you that

.However you fall into the same trap that all believers do ,instead of taking the scriptures on face value for what it actually states you endeavour to interpret what the scriptures mean according to your own understanding of things .

In other words you dont believe GOD can convey with words what he really means You have to decipher his meaning for us,

Is your GOD that stupid he cant say in words what he really means ? or do you think he doesnt mean what he actually says.?

    Which is it ?

Welcome to the forum Studybuddy and dont take offence at my response to your post.
