and I told her I would think about going to the Memorial

Lady Lee,

I received a nice handwritten invitation asking me to please attend the memorial with the author of the invitation. It would mean a great deal to her this year and to pray about it-Jehovah will bless me. It was signed "Love," Mom.

I can just as easily stay home and ignore Jesus but I didn't tell her that. I just won't show up. After she left I sat and stared at the Love, Mom part of the note for the longest time. I even ran my fingers across those words. I can't remember the last time I saw that from her. I was verklempt. I tucked it away in a safe place. That's a keeper.

Well she came back this evening with a magazine - the wrong one but said she would be back with the right one - her personal copy that she would want back. There might be some interesting opportunities here

I've been bombarded with the mags too. Mom couldn't understand what I thought was sooo funny re: the May 15 cover of the WT. I said, "It say's Noah's "LOG." She didn't get it.

Please correct me if I am wrong but it seems as if you may actually be considering attending their memorial. That tells me a great deal and it worries me that you are still living under a piece of their influence and maybe even consider them to be truth. I hope that I'm wrong, Lady. Have you researched the scriptures that teach us to partake? I can post some links for you to read if you'd like. love, dj

DJ thanks for the concern but I have no intention of going to a meeting where I am considered as not having Christ as my savior. I might still be confused about what I do believe but I have a pretty good idea that it isn't what the WT teaches. For them to say that only a few chosen ones are in the covenant with Christ is true apostasy at its worst.

PS I have been out for 17 years and lecture on cults and JWs whenever invited to do so ..... but I don't have to tell her that now do I?

I think I might do some seed planting though

You know when you think about it the whole idea of inviting somebody to a meal and then telling them they can only watch and will never be acceptable enough to partake of the meal is rude and ludicrous
