Your not kidding! When I think of all the folks on this board, who could have made a much better living for themselves if it had not been for the Watchtower.

There are people on this board who have great talents and if they could have went to college to further their education, they would be making 10 times the income they are making now.

But because of the Watchtower, they are working 2 and 3 jobs, and still struggling to make ends meet.

Atlantis : Maybe because I was converted at 20 , I already had a good work ethic and continued working in my last job for 28 years ,I came out with a reasonable good package and was able to buy my own home.

I`m not a self funded retiree , but we manage .

If we had listened whole souled to the WT /JW`s we would be up shit creek without a paddle.

It is no worse financially than those Grand Boasting Sessions that used to waste your money every summer. Travel, hotels, donations--all waste more money than worshiping the sun. And, you can cut back on things if things are really so tight that you simply can't afford it--one should never go into debt just for a holiday that recurs every year.

But, if you compare the expense of Christmas with the jokehovian expenses, Christmas celebration is actually cheaper. How much did it cost per year for car expenses for field circus, for instance? How many gallons or liters of gas per week did that waste? And wear and tear on the car? Suit dry cleanings, eating big macs every single day, donations, and whatnot also add up. Unlike worshiping the sun, you cannot cut back on field circus expenses without the hounders saying something about it.

Funny...wtwiz....ages ago when we still went to conventions I once figured that between hotel, travel, and meals it was costing us at least $800 to $1000.....for that we could have a nice weekend ocean getaway.....so the obvious choice....

An early clue for me was when they asked for donations at a convention after the money boxes had been taken away and i thought there is no way that money could have been counted in such a short time.
