Could you post the lyrics to that song you like so much? I would really appreciate it.
My spiritual music is more like either New Agey stuff like Kitaro, or some of the classical romantic music of Beethoven, Saint-Saens, Bach, Brahms. Like that. You have to supply your own lyrics to these though.

[ The Voice Within ] Young girl don't cry
I'll be right here when your world starts to fall, ooh
Young girl it's alright
Your tears will dry, you'll soon be free to fly, ooh
When you're safe inside your room you tend to dream
Of a place where nothing's harder than it seems
No one ever wants to bother to explain
Of the heartache life can bring and what it means
When there's no one else
Look inside yourself
Like your oldest friend just
Trust the voice within
Then you'll find the strength
That will guide your way
You'll learn to begin to
Trust the voice within, ohh
Young girl don't hide
You'll never change if you just run away, ooh ohh
Young girl just hold tight
Soon you're gonna see your brighter day, ohh
Now in a world where innocence is quickly claimed
It's so hard to stand your ground when you're so afraid
No one reaches out a hand for you to hold
When you look outside, look inside to your soul
When there's no one else
Look inside yourself
Like your oldest friend just
Trust the voice within
Then you'll find the strength
That will guide your way
You'll learn to begin to
Trust the voice within
Ohh yeah, ooh, yeah ohh
Life is a journey
It can take you anywhere you choose to go
As long as you're learning
You'll find all you'll ever need to know
(Be strong)
You'll break it
(Hold on)
You'll make it
(Be strong)
Just don't forsake it because
No one can tell you what you can't do
No one can stop you
You know that I'm talking to you
When there's no one else
Look inside yourself
And like your oldest friend just
Trust the voice within
Then you'll find the strength
That will guide your way
You'll learn to begin to
Trust the voice within
Young girl don't cry
I'll be right here when your world starts to fall -

When a song, poem, painting, movie, book or any other form of art touches a person it removes the inhibitors from that ones emotions. All forms of art are a blessing and can open up ones mind and heart. It validates and frees us. You may not even know why you like or dislike some photo or song but it does effect you. Songs can be very powerful, like smells, they deeply link up with our memories. Years later you smell a certain scent or hear a old forgotten song and a flood of emotion and memories rush back in your head. God is the ultimate Artist, and gave us this gift to share and inspire each other.
Too bad the WatchTower discourages in-depth consideration of worldly arts. They want smooth brains on their Duds! Maverick

Hi Shytears: this is one of the songs I listened to when I was in my early twenties. (that's 30 yrs ago) I still listen to it and does make me a little melancholy, but I just love that song. It's not easy being a young person. My daughter is almost 17 and it's not always easy for her, she also suffers from depression. But it does get better as you get older.

disease by matchbox twenty. don't remember all the words but, i think,
something like this...
feels like you made a mistake
you made somebody's heart break
but i have to let you know
i have to let you go
you left a stain
on every one of my good days
but i have to let you know
i have to let you go
noones ever turned you over
noones tried to ever let down
beautiful girl
bless your heart
i've got a disease
deep inside me baby
makes me feel uneasy
i cant live without you baby
what am i supposed to do about it?
keep your distance from me
don't pay no attention to me.....
dont remember the rest but it affirms my feelings about the wbts.. the bless your heart part always makes me laugh. -

I was just reading some of your old posts shy tears. The following song is one that always lifts my spirits. You can listen to it if you like at http://www.angelfire.com/la3/eyesla/movingon.html
I've dealt with my ghosts and I've faced all my demons
Finally content with a past I regret
I've found you find strength in your moments of weakness
For once I'm at peace with myself
I've been burdened with blame, trapped in the past for too long
I'm movin' on
I've lived in this place and I know all the faces
Each one is different but they're always the same
They mean me no harm but it's time that I face it
They'll never allow me to change
But I never dreamed home would end up where I don't belong
I'm movin' on
I'm movin' on
At last I can see life has been patiently waiting for me
And I know there's no guarantees, but I'm not alone
There comes a time in everyone's life
When all you can see are the years passing by
And I have made up my mind that those days are gone
I sold what I could and packed what I couldn't
Stopped to fill up on my way out of town
I've loved like I should but lived that I shouldn't
I had to lose everything to find out
Maybe forgiveness will find me somewhere down this road
I'm movin' on -
Sassy
I hadn't heard the song myself but I read the lyrics above. I can see how you would be touched by them.
I have always found music to be theraputic for me during times of stress or sadness. Depending on what I was going through it would be different songs. I think music touches us in a special way.

Ahhh, nothing like the Beatles to lift ones spirits!!! This is my fave on gloomy days!
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
And I say it's all right
Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
And I say it's all right
Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
And I say it's all right
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
And I say it's all right
It's all right
