How many of you have dissected a frog in biology class?

Ah dissecting! This brings back memories. Smelly ones mostly. I have done frogs, rats, mice, worms, grasshoppers, squid, several species of fish and even a shark!

Killing creatures for fun is a big no-no for me. I am all in for having respect for life in general, but making animal life equal or even above human life is morally detestable!

The story smells like a hoax.

That is rather arrogant, don't you think? Humans are NOT superior to any other living creature. A frog's life is just as important as your own. To demean that shows blatant disrespect to mother nature and ALL creatures

get real there isnt a frog in the world that i would trade the life of a child over..............or a million frogs for that matter.

I have fired potatoe guns here in Florida. If they are constructed correctly and primed with the right propellant, (such as WD-40), they can pack quite a punch. The facial bones of a child are not that hard, and there are small connective surfaces in and around the eyes and nose. It is very possible to severely damage this region of the face. This story is plausible. Maverick

Yizuman, you're a pig. It's amazing how you seem to have all the time in the world to surf the Net for articles like this and beg people for money because of YOUR disability, and then you so callously make a comment like the one you did. Perhaps you should spend more time trying to improve yourself and finding a freakin job instead of posting articles like this.

This is very sad, this occurred very close to where I live. I heard his parents on the radio yesterday telling about the dangers of this type of gun.

It was the Law of Karma. He was cruel , and was so enrapt in wanting to destroy this creature that he did not take any safety precautions. That matter is over and only he has to deal with it.

On a side topic, spud-guns are cool It's a shame a lot of states are outlawing them. The wildest one I have seen is this mulitbarrel gatling-potato gun. It can REALLY shoot a lot of spuds.

the boy is an idiot...no question about it. but does he deserve to live like that? i don't think so. we don't know how he usually behalves towards animals . he was in a group of other guys and therefore might not have been really himself.

as child i loved to play with ants and kill them in all possible ways.... i have come a long way since than but know that everyone can make stupid stupid mistakes.

I think this is tragic - most teenagers do something stupid / dangerous at some point. Yes it was a sick cruel thing to be doing but I really dont think he dervered to have this happen to him.

I really do not agree with people who think a frogs life is just as valuable as a humans. What if it was your teenager, would you think the same then?

I'm just trying to say that a lot ot people seem to think that humans have more value than other living creatures. I don't think we do. I think we are all created equally, and only human arrogance puts us above, lets say, frogs(or dogs for that matter). If this kid was shooting a dog, just to see what the dog would do, people would feel completely different, I think.

I just don't understand why we think the smaller the creatue, the less value its life has.
