Welcome aboard, tech597!! It is a pleasure to have you aboard. Your thoughts and opinions are most welcome here. Your story was very revealing about what happens when JW's start investigating things for themselves!!

Hiya Tech597
Your situation is not unlike mine, my journey out is further on than yours. In my case I was an up and coming Elder. My wife like your is still a JW's. If there is any consolation, if like my wife the arguments will fizzle out. Just don't let them push you apart, in the end, if she does not choose to listen you will have to agree to disagree.

Thanks for sharing Tech and welcome. I, too, used to wonder how Acts 15:28, 29 could be condemning blood transfusions, which had not yet been invented and the early Christians knew nothing about. I came to the conclusion that it was addressing current problems of their day (dietary laws-- forbiding eating blood products) and has nothing to do with a medical practice that came into existence centuries later.

Hey Tech:
It's good to hear that you feel you're learning new things. And as someone who is trying to help a special person think for themself as you have done, I feel encouraged. I would also encourage you to check out www.freeminds.org. If you still believe what you read in the Word, then you know all Truth has a source and all lies have a source. They don't mix and match. If indeed you have found "untruths" you likely will find more. -

Tech, welcome!
I have to say that at one time I wouldn't even consider reading material at a discussion group like this one.
Oh, yes, that's me to a tee, too. I'm glad you've pushed through that hurdle...there is so much to learn; life becomes alive again!

..."The brother with me tried desperately to describe to this faithful sister the many non-blood alternatives available to her that would not violate God's laws on blood. Inspite of his sincere efforts, this wonderful older lady could not grasp the medical complexities of the ever changing jw stand on non-blood alternatives and procedures.
It was an epiphony for me"....
Weve all had such moments, they come upon us when we do not expect them, and often the bearers of the understanding are the most unlikely messengers.

Thankyou for such a genuine experience.
I think it goes to show how far out and how lost the JW's have become. Their religion is getting more like the pharasees all the time, getting lost in their own reasoning thinking this proves love for their God and forgetting what it should be all about [wow, where did that come from, Im talking about religion]. I'm not religious myself, anymore. Maybe I'm just lazy, or maybe I've just had enough of it with the experience of being a JW.
WELCOME TO THE BOARD

My screen name comes from my work. I'm a telephone lineman and not very creative when it comes to picking screen names.
