ive just started the lost books of the bible and lost books of eden and the apocrypha.
i find it comforting to read they fill in alot of gaps . but i've only just started.

Nope...I think there is about an inch of dust on my bible.lol
Reading various versions and translations gives you a different flavor of a verse. When you look at the chain reference of the NWT, you clearly see a doctrinal bias. I know this because my mother used the reference of the NWT to prove to me the existence of the "faithful and discreet slave" class.
I purchased a study bible, with interesting tidbits of information on the sides. From time to time I will pick it up and read some.
The information on the sides makes it much more facinating, and easier to understand. It will explain why things were done a certain way back then, certain rituals etc.
