You know, there is nothing like the pleasure of looking on your bookshelf and seeing all those dub books in their hard bound covers and their pretty colours. You can arrange them all kinds of ways, putting all the yellow ones together and the blue ones together .Then you can put the green graded ones in the middle creating a flowing rainbow effect. Looks nice. Or you can arrange them by Chronological age if you fancy. I especially like the colours of some of the books. "Paradise restored to mankind by theocracy" is a lovely sky blue and I could sit looking at it for hours on end. Its Mesmeric. My favourite colour book is still Rutherfords "Enemies" though. A delightfull flesh pink colour. Very unusual.

I remember most vividly the beautiful hues that eminated from the flickering flames as the org books were consumed in an inferno - quite picturesque. And further proof that they will burn - even if you do have to use some petrol a starter.

This second one was printed in 1955. Any 1975 predictions in there, or did that come later?

the l975 predictions came in l968 in "life everlasting in freedom of the sons of god" (or something like that title). as i recall it was true red.

The Pink-covered Listening to the Great Teacher was a classic. So was the green Bible. The Paradise Lost book was a garish orange, if memory serves. The Your Will Be Done book looked like puke. God's Kingdom of 1,000 Years looked like a lemon.
Recently, I took some of those books and many bound volumes to the recycling center. Better there than in my house.

A kindred spirit! I loved all the different colors! Except for that nasty pea soup color a few of them had.
When they started printing all the books without hard covers, that was a bit of a sign for me. The books just don't smell the same. And if you throw it at someone, they just don't do the same amount of damage.

Ahh. Many thanks all comments. JGnat. 1975 was first proposed in the 1966 book "Life everlasting in the freedom of the Sons of God" , a lovely hard bound book in brilliant vermillion with gold lettering.
You know, it occurs to me that all the Seventh Day Adventist books I have are bound in dull brown imitation leather, while the Mormon books I have are all either deep Royal blue or imitation gold covered. Both of these lend an air of deep authority and significance in their appearances. Only the dubbies put their words of wisdom into books that are every colour of the rainbow. Perhaps they want the books words to speak for themselves, rather than having the APPEARANCE of importance.

Eyebrow. I remember as a kid being excited (can you believe that?) every year when the yearbook was released. What colour would it be THIS year??. Then in the 1970s consistent disappointment set in with the yearbooks. They became "Peasoup" colours, dull browns, greys, consistently as though the Organization was on a "back to nature" kick in its colour choices.
