@ ozziepost: I don't see the problem with letting the bible mean what is says, and say what it means.
Here are some of the facts about the 144,000 we can know from Scripture:
- They are called “the servants of our God” here. (Revelation 7:3)
- They are sealed for their protection. (Revelation 7:1-3)
- Their seal is the seal of God, which is the Father's Name written on their foreheads. (Revelation 7:3,14:1)
- They are taken care of by God for a time, and times and half a time. (Revelation 12:14)
- The dragon hates them and will seek to destroy them. (Revelation 12:15)
- They are virgins not defiled with women. (Revelation 14:4a)
- They are not deceitful and are right before God. (Revelation 14:5)
- They will be redeemed from among men. (Revelation 14:4)
- They will be firstfruits to God and to the Lamb. (Revelation 14:4)
- Not only are they Jewish but also true followers of Jesus Christ. (Revelation 7:4,14:4b)
- They are humans of earth, not sent from heaven or anywhere else.(Revelation 7:2-3,14:4b)
Remember, the church is not seen or spoken of in Revelation after Chapter 3.
