Isn't it interesting that people, like Madona, can slam anyones values when she got very rich by using those same values.
The rich and famous always have something to say as far as how things should be.
But how did many of them become rich and famous?
By troding on the values many hold dear.
If any of these celeberties really want to make a point and exact a change in the way things are, lets see them take their riches and give it to the poor.
Lets see them go out of their way and actually think about others rather than themselves.
Celeberties, because they can sing, dance, act...whatever, think that they are important.
That what they have to say should be acted on.
They are ENTERTAINERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's it. That's all.
They get payed very well to entertain. PERIOD.
When they start living like their preaching, maybe I'll spend some time to listen to what they have to say.
Until then, they should just entertain.

As I drove home today, I listened to 4 Madonna songs. I like *some* of her music. She is a master of marketing....how else could a medicore singer, poor actress and not too attractive person make it so big? Controversy. Remember *Sex* her coffee table book? Yeah, American values at their finest.
I am pretty sick of celebrity bashing here as well. If you don't care what they think or say...don't re-print it for everyone else. Celebrities are only such because we sensationalize them and follow them around. If we didn't they would be just like us.
They are people. They have opinions. Just like us! Yes they have a public platform, but you know what...if we had a hoard of reporters following us around, and then printing and choosing certain things we said, we'd all look like jacka$$'s too!
Having a hoard of reporters around me would remind me that if I did open my mouth, I could insert my foot. How many celebrities have not inserted their feet? Lots. Most know that saying the wrong thing (aka Dixie Chicks) can make your audience shrivel and/or make them debate whether or not to purchase your latest *artistic* offering.
Madonna knows exactly what she is doing. She is being controversial How else do you get press when you are a semi-washed up pop princess?
Celebrity bashing is low on the *bash* list here. Perhaps you are confusing celebrities with Americans. The ones that are bashed for saying something that a fan might not agree with, deserve all the negative press it breeds. Which I think is what Madonna's MO was. Press, any press.
This post of mine bashed. My first post high-lighted *some* of the press Madonna has received. My comment about her acting abilities seems to be a pretty well accepted fact.

All Right. Madonna has obviously taken the Internet Educational Course " DIXIE CHICKS 101"
Put foot in mouth......remove, insert other foot for emphasis.
"It's the most superficial part of the American dream and who would know better than me? The only thing that's going to bring you happiness is love and how you treat your fellow man and having compassion for one another."
YEAH. Is that so Madonna, you superficial, shave your pits twice an hour, bitch.
Put your money where your bleached moustached mouth is.
Sell all you've got, and give it to the Mother Teresa charities.
God. I can't believe anybody in her postion would be anal enough to say something like that.

funny how ridiculous record reviews are. The new album is an obvious progression from her 2000 record MUSIC, has some similar sounds and overall is at least the equal if not better record. MUSIC got universal 5 star reviews when it came out and this one is getting slammed.

I agree with Jo here, the media is being very scornful about Madonna this time round, but I still think she has something to say. Maybe just for once the British and American public can make their own mind up whether an Album is worth buying or not. Is she "desperate" for publicity? Sneery right wing newspapers are bound to say things like that, given Madonna's history. I didn't know it was against the law to speak your mind, but there seems to be a lot of people around that would like it to be that way. At the end of the day let the music speak for itself.
