To the majority of people who investigate the activities of the WTS from its beginning history there were obvious false proclamations and doctrines propagated by the WTS.

A matter of fact the WTS produced a long list of literature that posted proclamations on the front cover and went into detail of things that were suppose to happen, from Jesus returning changing the world in which we live and so on.

Wonderful things one might say but not factual or either theologically correct .

For practicing jduds to accept WT as anything other than "the only true religion" they would first have to

    think about it - critically

    research it

    weigh up the evidence

    accept the evidence

fom an opinion of their own based on evidence

WT tells them they're not even allowed to do the first step which is to think about it and most obey.

    That's why.

Sad but true, there is hope though we've all been there.

There is no such thing as theological or philosophical facts! It is only emotional or social behavior “facts” that counts. At least for JW dub´s. It is more important to be accepted in your own “group” then to tell the truth.

Watchtower Corporation is a commercialized false prophet

As a first argument, there is nothing such as a "Prophet", because nobody can predict the future other than the Weatherman maybe , who in turn relies on science.

This picture pretty much sums it up when it comes to the mind controlling orchestrated by the WTS. from the top down, in this sense literature proliferation worked or did its intent.

    Religious corruption at its finest.

The most astute post I have ever read here was: “why was 1975 enough to convince all of us?“

Although I was a young teenager, I did go through the 1975 fiasco, and I cannot explain why it took me 30 years to awaken to TTATT. I had many doubts but I continued to bury them or ignore them for decades. I really “lived it“. I was a true believer. I suppose I WANTED to believe it was true. Regardless of how unreasonable it was.

There are certain compelling elements to why and how so many were entrapped by the WTS’s doctrines and proclamations.

One being they were the controller of information and the said giver of truths, the information didn’t have to verifiable but did had to be engaging , like the 1975 doctrine as an example.

I find ego at the root of not changing. It is the fear of image: What would people think of me--I was so zealous about JW teaching, and I am not now--what does this tell about my judging ability?

    Good point Venus

There is also a lot of fear of coming out and openly exposing your doubts if any, on the contrary JWs are evaluated for their zealousness in service and participation, they inevitably trust everything the WTS says with loyal dedication.

That's really the heart of the problem, they trust too much and the WTS heads exploit that trust.

Fink, you are not a dislikable poster, also, I respect your feelings but you are blatantly wrong abou WT being about commercialism. If you were ever a JW, you should realize this.
