The Tetagrammaton 4 hebrew letters representing Gods name in the Hebrew scriptures as JHVH or more likely YHWH .

The name Jehovah was unheard of before the 13th Century simply because no one beforehand had added vowels to those four Hebrew consonants representing Gods name .

And then comes along a Spanish Catholic Monk of the 13th Century that adds vowels to those 4 Hebrew consonants and he comes up with the name Jehovah.

A name that the Catholic Church has used in and on Churches since the 13th Century throughout Europe and elsewhere in the world.

And lo and behold the G.B.of Jehovah`s Witnesses in their wisdom stated in the first edition of the "Aid To Bible Understanding" that they chose the name Jehovah as the correct pronunciation of Gods name because it was the most popular name in use in the world ?

By whom might I ask ?

Logically by Christendom `s religions ,who else ?

Then their is the Bible Cannon that all of the major christian religions have different books that they feel should make up the Bible.

    Protestant religions

    Roman Catholic

    Eastern Orthodox

    Russian Orthodox

    Greek Orthodox

They could be just some of the religions that have different books making up the Bible .

However Jehovah`s witnesses have clung to the traditional Protestant view of what books should make up the Bible ignoring the fact that some books of the bible themselves quote passages from other books that Christendom never included in the Bible cannon.

    The book of Enoch

    The book of Jubilees

    The testament of Jonah

    The book of Jasher

    First and second Maccabees

Just to mention a few .

Not to mention the Books incuded in the Bibles mentioned previously ,that are not contained in the NWT Bibles.

If you go by that logic then December 25th is the known recognized time of Christ's birth!

The conclusion from this excellent review smiddy3.........Is that............. the ignorance of the WTBTS shows them up to be just another wanna be Christian religion that has borrowed heavily from other religions...

Seventh -day or just plain old Adventist was the dominant religious thinking that influenced what would become the JW's.

You don't arrive at The Truth by visiting Quirkyville.

Apart from some of the Adventist ideas there is very little that allows the WTBTS to stand out as the only representative of Jehovah other then poor choices about blood, education and unfortunately....the name Jehovah.

The thing about a name is that you need to get it right, at least in polite company............... especially If your going to ask that person for a favor............... it doesn't work out too well if you call them by the wrong name.

Let me put it this way: "Hey Joe can you help me out I need $50".

"My name is Clyde......and hell no!"

Jehovah or whatever his name really is..................doesn't answer prayers because....in part......... we really don't know his real name. Jesus could have told us but didn't bother.

The only reason I can figure out why god and Jesus didn't reveal their true names is the same reason we can opt for unlisted phone numbers.

Only a small minority of JWs use the form of the divine name Jehovah, most use other forms. In the first century Jews used the divine name in the form Yaho. The important thing is to use Jehovah’s name. The strange thing is people who claim to follow the Bible yet seek to undermine the use of the divine name with excuses such as saying we don’t know the pronunciation or Jesus replaces Jehovah.

Jehovah's Witnesses boast that they've separated themselves from false religion and have rid themselves of false teachings and doctrines and quote Revelation 18:4:

"Get out of her my people if you do not want to share with her in her sins, and you do not want receive part of her plagues".

Yet they've embraced the biggest error, mistake and delusion known to Christianity...the mis-pronunciation of God's name...invented by the Catholics who the JWs sooo vehemently refer to as a harlot!

And get this...the Catholics rarely if ever mention this bogus and counterfeit name...Jehovah, cause they themselves know it's just that...a dummy and fictitious grasp of God's name!

So true ,Smiddy! It’s a books full of writings from all over the levant put together first by the Greeks then the Roman Catholics changed and changed again then in 1611 a English version is put out called the King James yet its changed again by 1638. The Bible is a shit show of stupid stories and ideas that don’t even make sense with contradictions galore.

Smiddy, do you agree that the Jews never stopped pronouncing the following 3 words in these Scriptures?

    3050. Yah

    3092. Yehoshaphat

    3470. Ysha'yah

Psalm 106:48 And all the people must say Amen. Praise Jah, YOU people!

    https://biblehub.com/hebrew/3050.htm

    Joel 3:2 I will also collect together all the nations and bring them down to the low plain of Je·hosh´a·phat;

    https://biblehub.com/hebrew/3092.htm

Isaiah 1:1 The vision of Isaiah the son of A´moz

    https://biblehub.com/hebrew/3470.htm

Do you agree that those 3 words written in Hebrew are consonants only and the vowels there are inserted based on how they would pronounce those words?

Do you agree that a Hebrew speaking person would have no dispute about those 3 Hebrew words when it comes to spelling and pronouncing them in English the way they are written in those Scriptures?

    Jehoshaphat/Yehoshaphat, Isaiah/Ysha'yah, Jah/Yah

Did the Spanish Catholic Monk of the 13th Century have anything to do with the vowels used in those 3 Hebrew words?

Do you see the E and O in Jeho/Yeho?

Do you see the A in Jah/Yah?

    YHVH + e o a = YeHoVaH

    Jehovah
