The last two seem very young.

will there be any further new GB members or will they all die off?

I still remember when Tony Morris and a few other joined many were disappointed thinking the current crop would be the last.

I think that every leadership group --starting with Russell-- expected that they would be the last. This group will replace the ones that pass away (or are asked to leave) and those new ones will feel like they will be the last ones and then they will replace the older members, and so on.

Look at the age of a few of them. Thinking of Sam Herd. He has to be approaching 80 (if not already 80). Seems he was already slipping a bit mentally. His health is not good. Of course, they don't have to replace anyone who dies as there is no specific number required. But the fact is, they will all continue to age and eventually become infirm or even die. So yes, they'll have to be replacements. . . . .

. . . . unless, of course, Armageddon really is right around the corner!

I believe Sam Herd has to be at least 85. To my knowledge.

I think Paul Gilles may be on the list for the future.

    I don’t see why there wouldn’t be.

Apart from, maybe, catastrophic world events, perhaps involving the death of most humans by war, disease, or artificial intelligence, I can’t envisage what would stop them keeping on appointing future GB members.

There’s a saying attributed to the Marxist theorist Frederic Jameson that it’s easier to imagine the end of the world than it is to imagine the end of capitalism. Maybe I’m caught by the Watchtower equivalent: it’s easier to imagine the end of the world than it is to imagine the end of the Watchtower organisation.

Wow. This means that Sam Herd is heading on for the ripe age of 90!

I was reading Barbara Anderson's account of when an anonymous GB member (likely Ted Jaracz) sent out direction to well known travelling overseers in 1994 to silence abuse victims and threaten them with disfellowshipping.

I looked more closely at the article, and it appears that this was originally written in the early 2000s. The writer made note Barbara stated that as she and her husband were thumbing through files in their colleague's office at WHQ, they found the numerous letters of great upset coming through from CSA victims. One thing she stated was that one of those travelling overseers who loyally followed this directive now serves on the Governing Body. Now, I am wondering if this was either Samuel Herd, David Splane or Stephen Lett as they were all appointed to the GB post 1994 and pre 2005 onwards when the next gen GB members started appearing.

If Hell exists and Jaracz isn’t there, there is something fundamentally wrong with the universe.
