I believe this ''No longer a JW'' change was in early 2005.

This sounds about right. I was born in the mid 1980s and remember the "so and so has been disfellowshipped" announcements as a kid.

    Indeed!

The big top secret announcement was March 20th 2005, according to the BOE letter on http://www.watchtowerwayback.org/en/

And the OD book released then does indeed contain the new phrase.

Very good, I'll check the BOE's for 2005 and see what I can find.

I appreciate all of the assistance from everyone!

If memory serves, I believe the newer phrase "No longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses" was the replacement terminology for "disassociated". A disfellowshipped person may still want to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses, but may not have convinced the 3 elders that they are truly sorry for what they have done.

Ok, thank you! There was a change that I remember from "disassociated" to "No Longer One of Jehovah's Witnesses. Your help is much appreciated.

where in that, does " on probation" come in? somebody that could convince the elders that she was already repentant enough? without being subjected to the loving provision of disfellowshipping?
