It's reasonable to assume that the CC investigation in England is an important factor.

I will be very interested in the reaction in the "Britain field" when the enormity of the way the rug is being pulled from one? der their feet filters through. How will the spin machine turn this into a positive?

Konctual99 = ok just thought about my previous post. Brooklyn takes the money from the Mill Hill sale. The money leaves the Uk. So they effectively want to sell their high value properties if they are anticipating losing their charity/tax free status. I would imagine the tax imposed on mill hill sale would be millions, so they would want to make a speedy exit. No doubt the German bethel has been preparing for this. If it's facilities are not adequate then the money needed for improvements would be no where near the money they received from Mill Hill sale. When the investigation in wt child abuse policies dose reach Germany, other than the cost of the initial improvements of up grading they havnt really lost more than they would of even if they had retained Mill Hill.So hence the move from one location to avoid the out comes of an investigation to another location where the same thing will take place makes perfect sense.

Perhaps. Don't forget that right now they are likely years away from losimg their tax free status. There is no significant and fast moving investigation by the CC. Even if the CC did rule against the org then it simply becomes a long and protracted legal battle.

The major driver for a move to Germany is simple economic common sense given the reduction in printing. There are other factors that come into play but nothing like what happened in France for example.

Not all European countries allow funds collected thru donations being transferred to other countries.

Can easily foresee consolidation into a handful of branches: Europe (Germany), Africa (South Africa?), Asia/Pascific (Japan/Australia?), North America (New York), South America (Brazil?).

Many sizeable countries have no branch at all now. Maybe the Briitish branch will disappear completely.

On this news Britain could have consolidated into Watchtower Houseand sold IBSA House, all houses on roads around WTHouse and other sites and still have made hundreds of millions and had far more space than needed in WTHouse, no need for a Chelmsford, which it appears there is really no need for now. A RTO , service desk, legal desk would be all that is needed, lot,s of heavies eased onto the road. Wonderful prospect.

Long term planning at Beooklyn worse than atBHS (failed UK retailer) if consolidation a prospects and decline of printing why plan a Chelmsford? How this is sold to loyal dubs will be interesting or will mention ofChelmsford vanish from any future talks, printing, videos etc?

will rank and file ever know about branch emasculation? I doubt it.

New light... Finally all operations will be done in Germany but assets and money will go to the new entity in Belgium: Association Européenne des Témoins de Jéhovah.

Does the society know something we Brits don't? Like, Brexit will succeed!

Not really... there is still a need for distribution and administration facilities. The bonus for the WTS is that loyal dubs in the UK have been donating to a project on the understanding it's a big build. So they have the funds in for a large development but only spending a portion of it. Sounds like excellent business to me.
