Some I've spoken to about our history and beginnings have said that "being Bible Students meant to evolve from falsehoods as they discovered that certain behavior wasn't consistent with Biblical teachings", then of course, the "light gets brighter" bs in Proverbs comes out in the conversation.

We humans believe what our minds are resolved to believe.

My father-in-law a long time respected elder (who has ALL the old books) once just told me - "we used to believe some funny things" to say as if now things are so much better.
He just chalks it up to - the light getting brighter...

And NO - no one knows or cares. You have to be an Old Timer to even know.

Most people dont even know or care about the insanity in the "revelation book" that we studied 4 times.

Most people are newish to the Org - or - just dont care about old "truths" that are not true now.

It's strange to think that Jehovah guided the evolution of the Bible Students to JWs - you'd have thought He would have intelligently designed His organization from scratch.

Oh yeah, it's been mentioned that just like Jehovah dealt with his chosen people in the past, as they made mistakes he'd correct them, punish them, abandon them and then had them reinstated to his grace, that the same way he deals with today's organization in the event they take wrong turns or make wrong choices.

It's unbelievable how crafty hardcore JWs can be excusing the WTBTS.

Personally the pyramidology aspect is interesting as an historical setting. It does show to those who know about it that Russel was influenced a lot by other religions and it took almost a century to form the JW org as we know it today: not surprisingly the WT now affirms that Russel was not the faithful discreete slave. My point, which incidentally I was discussing last night with my wife during our amily study is:

If Russel was demoted and no longer believed to be the faithful slave, I would assume for the lot of BS he wrote, what about Rutherford with his 1925 resursection of the princes? and waht about Franz with the brilliant ideas of 1975?

Worth dropping the topic to see if they really study the history of the JWs!!

To most JWs the days of Russell and the Bible Students is "Old News" (kinda like Old Light) and it just doesn't matter. Esp since in recent years the GB has thrown Russell and his teachings "under the bus". Russell is no longer considered as having been any part of the F&DS. By doing so, they have removed all of his pyramid quackery from the new JWdotOrg religion.

Before your family can wake up to TTATT, they have to open their eyes. The most important thing you can do is be there and be ready when they take the first step.

Most people in general, including JWS know nothing about who started the Watchtower Corporation or the founding people such as C T Russell.

The WTS's leaders have known it isn't in their best interests to not expose those particularities.

The WTS and the JWS were really founded upon false coercive information, deviously concocted to allure people to the literature the organization published, creating a pseudo commercially appealing Gospel.

Hence the acronym TTATT The Truth about The Truth.

I don't think current JWs do - it just seems quirky and they are already a million miles away from Russel et al when it comes to beliefs and doctrine.

It's mostly only of interest to people already convinced of the "wrongness" of the WTS.
