PICTURE: NT PoliceA PARISHIONER arriving at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Berrimah crashed through two church walls, missing occupants waiting for a service to start.
The 78-year-old female driver was taken to hospital with cuts and bruises. Police believed she may also be suffering from shock.

PICTURE: NT PoliceDuty Superintendent Louise Jorgensen said police were called to the church on Vanderlin Drive, which is less than a kilometre from the Peter McAuley Centre, at around 3.30pm.
“She was arriving for the 4pm afternoon service about 30 minutes early,” Supt Jorgensen said. “It appears the woman mistook the accelerator for the brake and crashed through the walls.
“Luckily given the time of the day and how early she was, there was only about 10 people inside when normally there would have been many more.
“We are not expecting to prosecute as a result of the accident, however we will be liaising with authorities in regards to the license.”
