They come uninvited to your door step and try to discuss bible/WT doctrines with you, and many times or on occasion you do so.

You may even exchange first names with each other , and that is fine if you are happy with that but do you know where they live ?

But they have an advantage over you .They know your name and where you live .!

You may know there first name but you don`t know where they live .that is the advantage they have over you.

Does it really matter ? of course it bloody matters that some stranger has invaded your privacy. !

The next time a JW knocks on your door ,ask them for their home address and see what a response you get from that ?

Because obviously they have your home address ,so why can`t you have theirs ?

Now in the UK and I think Europe they can’t record it though. That has completely knocked the stasi records culture to pieces.

The “ministry” has been turned on it’s head, they have been effectively been stopped from following up anything but the hottest leads. The takers from outside are almost non-existent so I wouldn’t worry Smiddy, the only way they will have your name etc is if they commit it to memory.

legit d2d canvassers carry photo ID. It would be great if all jws at the door would be asked to produce their driver license, or other picture and address document. or personal business card.

We want to know who peddles the overlapping generation, after all,we are certain

David Splane of Warwick NY. USA. does

In the US they still keep all the records and comments about the doors.

I agree, they should have to supply name, etc...

Yeah, like I'm sure they "care" about knowing all that about you.

Really, all the know is that there is a door there, and they are told to knock on it. They just want to tick it off their list to earn their WTS virtue points.

You may know there first name but you don`t know where they live .that is the advantage they have over you.

Try practicing: "they're putting their things over there".

I wonder what happens next time one of them knocks on my door, and receives a reply in German. I don't think any of them will understand it, and they will have zero advantage when I speak to them what I really think of the bible, in German.

It is amazing what you can find out out someone if you have their address.

You can assessor websites for your area to see who owns that house.

    Take that/those names

Check on whitepages or other free search sites and find out who else lives there, where this person has lived before, find their phone number, etc.

I do it all the time. With a little experience you can find even more info, where they work, who their neighbors are.

Not much is secret nowadays, Not even if you have registered to vote. Of course that does not mean you have voted.

someone once asked me for my home address. I think it happened only once. My answer:

Well, if you engage in door to door ministry, you will eventually find it in the same way I just found yours.

Not a word for word account; that happened like 25 years ago. I don't remember the rest of the conversation, but I remember the answer I gave cause I bragged about it for years.

We can always display this sign 😇.

on my house I have something like a no wanted sign, I’ve seen witnesses get to my door just to turn back once they see it.

I can no longer get in discussions or the silly questions that they want to ask. And I’ve instructed my children not to open the door too.... just in case. 😬

In one congregation, because a bro hadn't sign the form saying they could have his data, they wouldn't use his name or surname. So what he did some part on the platform, he was introduced as Brother Blank.

Maybe this is happening in other congregations. If so, even if they know each others names and addresses, they can't tell anyone unless the right forms have been signed.

The householders are probably safe, so long as they don't sign anything and ideally don't show any interest in the message.
