    In sentencing Harvey, Mr Andrews told him he had taken into consideration the fact he had already been punished by the church and through the breakdown of his marriage.
    "And I take in to account also your good prospects of good rehabilitation, which seem to be demonstrated by your willingness to admit these things, and your lack of offending in the long period since this offence."

    After the ARC report it is amazing that a judge would consider church punishment through the JWs to be in any way valid. This is sick. I feel so bad for that poor girl. He got a two year reduced sentence for the rape of a child!!! Terrible!

    Two years for raping a young child? Not enough. A lifetime in prison wouldn't be enough. How is maybe losing privileges, maybe being reproved or disfellowshipped in any way a just punishment? This judge has his head up his butt.

    How did the judge know that he hadn't offended since the original crime?

    Merely based on the fact that there were no other charges filed?

    Was there no consideration given that there might be other silent victims?

    In the US, child molestors are the scum of the scum and are hated by all the other prisoners. They do 'hard time' due to the other prisoners giving them a taste of their own medicine.

    I don't know if that is true in Australian prisons or not, but I can't say I'd be sorry if it is.

    If he's only doing 8 months, he deserves some hard time.

    Child rapists disgust me.

    I am heartbroken for the victim. This rapist ruined her life.

    I am happy that there is more bad press for WT. How many other lives have been ruined by this cult?
