I just received a hand written envelope through the post containing an invitation to the online 2021 convenient. Has anyone else had one of these ? I'm in Staffs in the UK .

The Convention Invitation Campaign started June 19th here in Texas. A copy of the invitation is found on the jw.borg website.

It was addressed to The Householder , not to me personally. No l don't have any JW family , l think that maybe this could be ' getting time in ' .

Aww, crap, are they still doing the conventions? in person? or are they supposed to sit on the computer for 2 1/2 days?

It's the "convention invitation campaign".
The idea is that you, dear householder, will be so enthralled by the invitation that you will eagerly leap at the chance to watch old men with little to no charisma or public speaking ability blather on about topics tangentially related to the Bible. The hope is that you will reply to the invitation, and then they will send you a link to watch a streamed recording of those old men blathering (no in-person conventions in 2021, just as there were none in 2020).
Anywhere from 95 to 98% of the program will be incomprehensible gobbledy-gook to non-JWs, but hey, gotta get their "time" in.
It will save time and be less painful to just pound your forehead with a ball peen hammer.

FFGhost , that's just what happened- not 😂 . I don't know what a ball peen hammer is , do they cost much ?

Donation boxes will be replaced with a donation button you can click on. I bet they still stream a part about Convention expenses and how joyous it is to donate.

You have to keep in mind that these hand written letters are designated hours and time practicing JWS are using to count time which they hand into their elders.
So that's how you have to realize and accept whats going on with these as they come in.
They are brainwashed to do this, in other words.
