I'd change the owner
Hmmmmm.....well, what I would like to see is a forum especially devoted to the "possessive s"
Cheers, Ozzie
This is my first JW forum, and I think it's the best. People RESPECT each other here. The right people are in charge doing a GREAT job.
Knowledgeable people are here to answer to everybody's questions. This place is a great tool for people questioning the Watchtower Org. and a great help for those leaving, as well a good place to make friends with a common background.
Once in a while troublemakers appear, but their lives are short here. Long life to this forum.
I think this forum is pretty good.
Since my leaving the JW's. It has helped me realise d I'm not the only one who has been through what I have. That there are others also still suffering from the effects of leaving, of being shunned by family, being considered nothing because you have left.
I have also gain a lot of information about the organisation that even I after being a JW for nearly 30 years didn't know. I have seen how different views exist in other parts of the world to here in Britain. How in USA they do seem to be far "stricter" than here on certain things. How they also seem to be more frightened of "demonic influence" . I mean the thing about Smurfs really cracked me up, here in Britain no one took a blind bit of notice of them.
The information gleaned from those who are still JW's in name only has been interesting. What goes on in their Kingdom Halls etc. Keeping me up to date with latest WT thoughts.
But also I've seen how ex-JW's have born up under what they have gone through. How they sometimes can laugh at their situation.
Yes i think this is a really good forum.
It moves fast, I like that. On days when I am bored outta my mind, I can always post fluff here and get plenty of responses to keep me busy.
j/k
This is the only forumn which we have been on , we found it by chance not knowing what and how other forumns are operated,you are givn as much freedom as you need to post your messages, which is therapy within itself you learn an awfull lot from others you can come and go as you please,post or not there is no gun to your head,you learn to respect others ,and there viewpoints but most importantly you are allso here to help and guide damaged ones whom are leaving or have left the borg,j.w your personal interests dont count much ,and truth always prevails over lies,this is a community of loving and compassioate people here to help with every or most people here ready to give of there own time. all without charge, I SEE THIS AS A CITY OF REFUGE AS MENTIONED IN THE SCRIPTURESBEGINING OF FREEDOM AFTER THE ORGANISATION.
The Members Only forum is an excellent new option for the sort of posts that need to be kept more confidential.
Englishman.
It is relatively easy to navigate. I like the inbox option. I would like to see the number of 'hits' when using the members directory. It would be nice to be able to punch in the thread number to look up any past thread without having to scroll back to find it. And Simon if there are ways to do these things where do I find out how? This forum reminds me of a joke;
A guy goes to a fortune teller with a friend. She looks into the crystal ball and starts laughing hysterically. He stands up, leans over the table, and punches her on the nose, then walks out.
His friend rushes after him and asks "What did you do that for?"
The guy replies...
"I've always wanted to strike a happy medium."
Awful jokes aside, occasionally for MY taste, this board is too conservative. I also feel that any individual who runs a board like this is;
That last comment is something ANYONE who runs a board that requires this much input would be victim of, not a crack at Simon.
I think a panel of people to run this board or a board like it would institute the check and balance that (what is now) a public resource needs.
I'm sure Simon (and Anghrad) will move to a structure like that eventually, basically because Simon has said as much himself.
