  I know this happened several years ago but.... Holy Christ! They beat the poor girl 160 times with a 3/4 inch cable!

  In the 6th grade, I remember my JW father beating me with a belt on my back so bad one time that when the coach saw the whelps at gym, he asked me if I wanted him to report it. He didn't even really like me because of all the JW stuff about not saluting the flag. But, this worldly man felt compelled to do something. Of course I just told him that I deserved it and not to worry about it.
  
  Too bad this girl wont have a chance to free herself from this cult. I hope she is in a better place.

  It goes back to 2001 though, sad really for those poor children.

  I think most JW kids just keep quiet about it. In the 60's and 70's it was common for mom's to carry belts in their purses to beat their kids with outside the front door. They didn't want the other Witnesses to be distracted by the cries. So, the neighbors got to hear it if they were close by.
  
  There was probably some directive against this at some point because it stopped. Restrooms became the preferred beating place. And if not there, when you got home behind closed doors.... look out!
  
  JW kids were expected to act like adults through long tedious meetings.

  Doubtless this couple paid more that the usual attention to the life-saving spiritual food lovingly provided in the WT publication: MAKING YOUR FAMILY LIFE HAPPY. Remember that book?

  "A spanking may be a lifesaver to a child... If parents hold their children’s life interests dear to them, they will not weakly or carelessly let disciplinary action slip from their hands. Love will motivate them to take action, wisely and fairly, when it is needed." Making Your Family Life Happy (1978) p.132

  Many JW fathers were eager to show themselves not weak, but strong in the truth of the Watchtower.

  "Permissiveness breeds both juvenile insecurity and delinquency. … But both “rod and reproof” are needed." Watchtower 1986 Nov 1 pp.22-23

  In Ps. 23: 4 the rod was used to gently and patiently correct with the result of security and comfort. "Thy rod and thy staff comfort me"

  my first wife was a born in ,,so was her mother .her father was a convert.

  we married young for the usual cult reasons, and after a while she told me her father used to belt her with a strap as a child. One of the side effects of this was she enjoyed a bit too much slap and tickle as part of our marital relations.

  Of course Min but its an indication of how JWS parents follow the bible's instructions for rearing children, you know the ancient civilization that existed 3000 years ago.

  My parents particularly my father would belt us for the most little of reasons and use other acts of violence against us, he to this day is not very well liked or loved by us.

  Some of these JWS fathers would treat their children like animals in need for correction.

  These things are now illegal in most modernized countries for a reason.

  My mom, parroting Watchtower sentiment, once told me that if we lived in OT times that she would be required to stone me for rebelliousness.
  
  I know she could never do that, but all the same. How are thinking children supposed to act when your religion and your family constantly tells you that God will kill everyone except JW's in 1975 and then nothing happens?
  
  We kids who lived through 1975 were robbed of trust in ANYTHING... God, parents, government - everything.
  
  Growing up JW was a nightmare.
