Were there other Christs?

Matthew 24:5

5	For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall 1 deceive many. That was written 2000 years ago. Do you know of any person who said he was Christ and deceived many, like Jesus said?

There is a disorder of the mind whereby people believe they are Christ. It is more common than you could possibly imagine, and we have had posters here state they are Jesus Christ himself. It is well documented phycosis.

Some may believe that they are Christ, but they don't deceive many. What did Jesus mean, by other Christs deceiving many...

There have been many.

Even the Watchtower has taught that both Jesus and the 144,000 are Christ!

I believe that the Roman Catholic Catecism says that Catholics are Christ.

I also think that millions of new agers claim to be Christs.

Here's a few false Christs for ya:

"They are to be members in particular of that great prophet and life giver CHRIST and will share in the work of life giving, restoring the dead and dying world to perfection, hence the term 'Everlasting Father' as well as every other title of the Head is to be shared by his joint heirs and co-workers." (Zion's Watchtower. Feb 1888, p.1007)

The Watchtower believe the anointed are THE Christ with Jesus thrown in for free.

The word "Christ" means Messiah, or "Anointed One."
