  100% correct! I thought exactly this even as a child. Back decades ago, the Governing Body were seen as an anonymous, quiet, grandfatherly group of cloistered men chosen by Jehovah to carefully guide the Flock during the Last Days of this wicked system of things. AKA: "Faithful and Discreet."
  

  Before the "Body of Elders" were coined, men taking the lead in the Congregations were seen and referred to as "Servants", there to help the Flock. That all changed when the Elder Body was formed and the titles of "Overseers" were given out.

  In biblical times, "Overseers" were PUT OUT OVER the Israelite slaves to keep them in line by the Pharoahs. They were no friends of the hard-working slaves. This same type of arrangement was also found in the Nazi Concentration and Death Camps. There were Jews who betrayed their people to gain favor with the Nazi's in order to have some small amount of power and extra benefits, better living conditions, etc. But it basically came down to them being Overseers and snitches.

  "If you want to know who rules over you, just look for who you are not allowed to criticize." < I'd say this fits the current Governing Body to a "T." So they're aren't a "Faithful and Discreet Slave." Far from it! They are a "Governing Body", ruling and Lording it out over the rank-n-file Sheeple as if they were Jesus Himself, which in a way, they are! They profess to be His "brothers", the ruling class 144,000 "Princes among men." Proof of this? ZERO! They're in charge because they SAY they are in charge!

  All of this, while they poor-mouth and profess to be "humble servants." Jesus didn't have a pillow to rest his head upon, but the Gluttonous Bozo's show up on camera in fitted suits, Rolex watches, gold jewelry, french cuffed shirts with gold cuff links, and are treated like Popes wherever they go. Absolute Idolotry! I think even Ken Copeland or Jimmy Swagart would be envious of the "obeisance" that they are paid at each and every meeting and Convention.

  So yeah, the bait-n-switch that they've managed to pull on the dumbass Sheeple is truly a sight to behold.

  Jesus said to clothe yourself with love. The GB and WT hierarchy are totally naked as regards the appropriate modestly arranged clothing for a follower of Christ.

  The unscriptural evolution from the term of "servant/slave" to overseer/prince/governing body/king-priests etc." is in opposition to the context from which it was taken in Matt.25.

  When I am asked if I recognize the FFD/GB as "Jah's channel" or whatever, (and I'm always asked),...I just point them to the verses below and say, " it doesn't matter one tiny bit what I think. It only matters how "they" treat "us," and if God finds it acceptable.

  Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
  [46] Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
  [47] Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
  [48] But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
  [49] And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
  [50] The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
  [51] And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

  And I don't think this sudden love for "Jeeesuz" came from the GB. I think it came from the business/marketing end of this corporation, as anyone could see this "Christian" organization was anything but that. Many of us saw it for years. Now that recent talks and literature is bringing Christ back, (lol), it looks better to the "world" for reasons they need it to be.

  Wing commander is right. The new emphasis on Jesus is not about Him, who is not present in the flesh*, but on "his brothers", the GB, who are, unfortunately, alive and well and present among the other sheep, making them do their bidding.

  I served in Bethel in London from the age of 19. I can confirm that all the indoctrination about no sex nothing allowed like jerking off (even though they all do) it does indeed mess up young men.

  You are in an environment of mostly young men and middle aged married couples. So the wives are loving all the attention they get from these horny young men.
